In the past 25+ years, I have spent an average of 10 days a month in hotels and motels for leisure and mostly, business purposes. I have NEVER been so aggravated with a manager that I had to call their corporate office to voice a complaint. That was until my stay in the Comfort Inn in Cedar City, Utah.
When we checked in, we were greeted by Steven, who was very professional and personable. He advised that the hotel had a strict noise policy. Apparently, the hotel was built so poorly, that I had to initial the registration that I understood their noise policy. Unfortunately, they don't enforce it. From kids running in the hallways to hearing every step your upstairs neighbor makes to the paper thin wall where you can hear a conversation almost perfectly from the room next door.
Needless to say, we did not get ANY sleep and the next day of traveling to Bryce Canyon was not as enjoyable as it should of been. What REALLY set me off was when I complained to the desk clerk in the AM, she called the manager on duty and he abruptly hung up on me in mid conversation. I called their corporate customer care office and they found out the manager has been away for 3 weeks. Total incompentancy at the management level. This hotel is too noisy to get any reasonable sleep.
The breakfast offerings were OK but even with 2 attendants who stayed in the kitchen area, the service area was not kept clean.
The manager called me the next day to apologize and offered a full refund and a free night's stay if we would retract a review that we had written on another travel site. The day after the refund was issued, the manager fraudulently charged my credit card again. The bank saw that the first refund was an admission of what the manager agreed to and credited the fraudulent charge. I have also filed a complaint with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection as to the fraudulent charge.
The hotel lobby is very beautiful, very well decorated! The checking in process was fast and front desk staff was very friendly! My room was very spacious and the room was spotless, I was very impress on how well cleaned the room was. Their breakfast was very good, a variety of selections on cereals, teas juice. They also had healthy selections such as bagels, yougart, oatmeal, apples, bananas, and hot scrambled eggs and bacon.
We stayed here for 3 nights while exploring Zion. The hotel appears to be new or newly renovated because it feels fresh. The room was excellent and the bed was nice and soft. The breakfast was very nice with a few random items daily. One morning there was bacon and sausage. For a hotel breakfast it was very good. Plenty of items to choose from. When we return to Cedar City i will stay here again. Great location and plenty of parking as well.
I called Comfort Inn/Suites, and Cynthia at the front desk helped us get a great room for the evening at a very reasonable rate--which was wonderful, since most of the hotels in town were booked solid! Our room was clean and very comfortable. We would stay there again if we are passing through Cedar City.
We were pleasantly surprised to find this Comfort Inn & Suites in Cedar City, UT had a vacancy. It was a weekend and there was a college football game. When I made the reservation, the night before, I requested a high floor away from the elevator and ice machine and the front desk staff was very accommodating even though they were filling up because of the football game. Our king room was much larger than the room we had the night before at a SpringHill Suites in Colorado. Our room here was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was a nice continental type with waffles, sausage and eggs and a variety of four juices. You wouldn't walk away hungry. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The last person to stay in the room we were given had messed up the controls on the AC, when I called the front desk about it they came up right away, reset the controls so we had AC working properly. The batteries in my camera died and I asked if they had any in their little 'store' I could purchased. The owner went into her office and came back out with a package and gave me two brand new batteries and said there was no charge. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good night’s rest.
Stopped for one night on way back from LA to Colorado. Was very nice for a chain hotel, clean, large room, kids used pool and was in good and clean condition. Breakfast was good, basic chain stuff but the price is right. Right next to shopping and restaurant area. Would stay again.
Room was spotless, staff was friendly and helpful. Easy access from the freeway. Restaurants, gas stations, WalMart and shopping center nearby. Good value for the money.
