Old Cucamonga Winery. This old so. Calif. winery is one of few located in the highly-urbanized Inland Empire's Rancho Cucamonga - once home to 30 plus Prohibition-era wineries. The region known historically for sweet dessert wines and robust higher alcohol red wines - Zinfandel, Grenache, Carignane, Mission. The winery is operated by the Filipi family offering a large selection of bottles (corks, twist offs, large 4 liters from several different California regions. The local reserve port and sherry were best of the tasting which takes place at the large old redwood cask bar. Staff is helpful, prices moderate to high. Tours are available - call for hours.

Share the passion for the grape at Rancho Cucamonga's premier winery and vineyard.. Rooted in the Inland Empire for decades, the Filippi family has grown premium wine grapes in the Cucamonga Valley continuously since 1922. Farming 80-plus acres of Zinfandel, Grenache, Mourvedre, Alicante Bouschet, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc and Tannat, the winery has won more than 200 awards for winemaking excellence. The spacious tasting area is where guests can sample reserve barrel-aged releases and award-winners, as well as purchase bottles. There's also a picnic area with redwood tables (from old casks), a rose garden, black walnut trees and horseshoe pits, making it a fun spot for outdoor winery events.
