Lyceum is EXACTLY what the North Shore has needed!!. The lyceum has always been a "go to" restaurant for us but since the recent facelift it is just the best. The atmosphere makes you want to wine and dine for hours...be it at a table or the bar. And, the delicious food keeps you coming back over and over again. If you want a sophisticated meal the Pork Osso Bucco is to die for but if an old standby is on your mind their fish & chips is THE BEST I have ever had. Bon Appetit!
Lyceum is The Best!. I've been fortunate to travel around the world with my career and try some of the best restaurants and The Lyceum has remained my favorite. The people at the Lyceum are very friendly and make the experience special. My wife & I have started a tradition of starting our holiday shopping with brunch at the bar and makes the day enjoyable (for someone who hates to shop!). The tenderloin melts in your mouth and the seafood is always delicious. I can't wait to go back soon.
Wow - great bar, great food, great fun. Haven't been here is ages - stopped by with a girlfriend for drinks and dinner.. the place is completely renovated. very chic, fun lounge area near fireplace, martini list, beautiful dining room. AWESOME food - can't say enough. hope my next experience is as good.
A long-time, dependable stand-by for Salem lunchers looking for a hefty sandwich in a nicely traditional interior..
In Short
This is one restaurant where you might want to bring your cell phone: in homage. Here, on Feb. 12, 1877, Alexander Graham Bell gave the first demonstration of a long-distance telephone call. The fish chowder, as the menu claims, is pretty close to "great." The chief specialty is grilled portobella mushrooms, and upscale dinner options include maple-grilled game hen.
