Slice of Heaven
by Birdie2
When it comes to a mouth watering slice of of real Neapolitan style pizza, there are three elements that must be executed with loving authenticity: sauce, cheese, and crust. If one ingredient under performs, it's always a disappointing experience.
My friend recently brought me to Prides Pizza and promised me it was worth the caloric splurge. Three slices later, I was tempted to relocate to Beverly. The owner makes his sauce using his late grandmother's recipe, originating in their homeland of Italy. Not too sweet, not too thick, it marries perfectly with a savoy blend of cheeses. The crust holds up to the pizza-fold test, optimizing the amount of pie you can fit in your mouth. The dough is crusty on the outside, chewy on the inside - a buttery delicious crust you wouldn't think of tossing to the side.
This pizza would make any Italian proud. I'm already planning my next trip to Prides and can't recommend this place highly enough. One taste and you'll be hooked.
- Pros: Trifecta of sauce, cheese, crust
- Cons: Extremely addictive pizza
The Pizzeria Regina's of the North Shore
by Raina413
Having grown up on boardwalk pizza in New Jersey and New York City pizza, in addition to being Italian, I am a tough customer when it comes to how my tomatoe pie is made. But Prides Pizza has got it just right - no mezza mezza here - just downright deliziosa! The crust is thin but not wafer thin - just right - fresh and crispy, the sauce is homemade, an Old World recipe from the owner's NoNa and I hear there are more than a few variety of cheeses. Add it up and you've got the perfect trifecta of pizza bliss. Yummers! After you picnic at Prides (picnic tables outside and family style seating inside) walk next door to Captain Dusty's for an ice cream dessert.
- Pros: homemade pizza recipes from the Old World
- Cons: n/a
BEST PIZZA, CHICKEN KABOB AND STEAK AND CHEESE AROUND!
by JasonBertaiger
I drive by this little place on Hale street in Beverly everyday. One day I stoped in to try the Pizza. I was amazed how good it was. I thin crust new york style pizza that is now on the top of my pizza places anywhere in the Boston area or northshore. After trying the pizza I tried what the owner recommened and again I was amazed with the quality. The Chicken Kabob wrap was excellent with the greek dressing was out of this world. On another occasion I tried the steak and cheese sub, it was very tasty with a great seasoning fresh bread. I am a big fan now I love this place.
- Pros: great food and service
- Cons: small place place really take out and delivery
