Very difficult to return

I love to give business to the local places, but never again at the Shoe Barn. I looked at a pair of shoes for my wedding and I wasn't sure if they were the correct height for my gown so I asked if I could return them. He stated I could if the soles weren't marked up.
I went back within the 14 days and the woman at the counter examined the bottom and said there were pinprick marks and she couldn't take them back. You practically needed a microscope to see the marks!! She pointed to a sign high up on the wall that I did not notice when I bought the shoes and it wasn't pointed out to me at the time of purchase. Apparantly, you can only try them on carpet and since I tried them on in my bedroom which has hardwood floors they would not take them back. It was extremely obvious that they had never been worn for longer than about a minute, but this woman did not care. She stated she was the manager.
I am very disappointed and I would not recommend the Shoe Barn. Now I am struck with a pair of shoes I will never wear.
btw: Payless has a nice selection of shoes for all occasions and they dye the shoes as well.
- Pros: none you can get the same at Payless
- Cons: Very strict return policy.

eazy to get to. inbetween route 1 and route 99.watch hours on wednessday and thursday. opens at 12 noon.
