"Go To" place for all around goodness. We love this restaurant - first the decor & restrooms are really nice/above & beyond what you'd expect in a casual dining restaurant. We also love the variety on the menu. (Our favorites are the burgers & pulled pork BBQ.) Drinks & beer selection are solid, too. Service is pretty good, even when it's really crowded. Far & away one of the best bets for family & casual dining in the Merrimack Valley area. We highly recommend "the 'Shoe!"

One of the friendliest restaurants ever. I've know the Lee family for 52 years, from Pat's father to his great uncle. And the service is like going to your uncles place with family service. I since have moved to FLA and the 1st place I hit is the horseshoe Grille not because I know them because of the great menu...good luck PAT....Allan Croswell

Worth Driving To, Best Service & Mouth Watering fresh food!!. My family and I eat out regularly .......

We CANNOT TOP our experiences here, each and every visit is better than our previous one.

I really don't know how they do it: But, Consistently they do.

* Food, fresh ,delicious, and menus ever changing

* Nice Wine, Drink, Dessert Menus

* Friendly, Warm ,Inviting Staff , from the manager & throughout, everyone of them make you feel like you're special and part of their family.

Have them surprise a friend on their B-Day, complimentary cake and embarassing picture!

If you go you'll become a fan like us!

Fantastic food & service. We were driving back from New Hampshire and looking for a place to eat that was not a chain restaurant and noticed this spot. We had never heard of it and decided to try it. We are glad we did. Fantastic food and service and felt very comfortable.

We live in Marblehead and will definelty be frequenting the Horseshoe Grille

Gourmet barbecue at its best!. The "Shoe" is our local favorite. Great atmosphere and excellent service. The menu features something for everyones taste and the food is top quality, gourmet cuisine. Lots of great barbecue, good sandwiches and nice salads. A great family place but fun to go as a couple or with friends. Love the pulled pork and turkey tips. Oh yes.....desserts are heavenly and need to be shared!

Best Family restaurant in the noth of Boston Area. We have two children ages 1 and 3 and go to the Shoe whenever we need a meal out. Diverse menu. Food is consistently very good, the steaks for me and the specials or pulled pork for my wife though the occasional diversion to the ribs is also a good choice. Portion sizes are generous but not overwhelming. Service has always been good and the corn bread is both delicious and a good distraction while we wait for our meals. Good drink selections as well. Nice bar area but we do not usually get to sit there with the kids. In the warm weather the outside patio is great. Service is just as good outside as in and we do not worry about how much noise or mess the kids are making. The place gets busy as the evening goes on so we get there early as it is easier with the kids. Great place for adults as well and we have gone with other couples when we can get sitters. Nice atmosphere and always clean, except our area when we leave, all those corn bread crumbs the kids left behind. Fireplace in the middle is a nice touch on the cold days.

Great Food featuring something for everyone-atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The Horseshoe is a all around great place to catch a great meal, enjoy a good drink or both. This restaurant offers a bit of everything you maybe looking for. Enjoy your meal in the dining room with your family or a quiet dinner by the fireplace. The bar is a great place to meet friends, enjoy a drink, watch the current sporting event or all of the above. The menu has a good variety that include great entrees. hearty salads, burgers, and sandwiches. My husband loves the Southfork Steak and the Shoe Burger. I sample from all of the menu but to name a few of my favorite; the Island Salad, Veal with Vodka Sauce and most of the fresh fish specials they offer.

You'll want to go back for more............... Some restaurants you go to, there is way too much stuff on the menu, some do not have enough. The Horseshoe is just right. There is something for everyone in the family. It can also be a nice spot for a romantic dinner for two by the fireplace. The food is prepared well and the servers are very friendly and attentive. Great management! My family and I frequent the Horseshoe a lot since we live in town but would still travel a distance even if it were located elsewhere. My husband and I, at times, go without the kids to enjoy the awesome appetizers and have a drink in the bar area, but mostly during Red Sox season so we can watch the game! Not only are the dinners mouth watering but the sandwiches on the lunch menu are very tasty!!! And...oh...they do catering also! Party season coming up....get on it now!!!!! Plenty of parking. Busy on the weekends but a must try for lunch and weeknights for families. All in all I give the Horseshoe 5 stars.

Ribs to die for. I had heard about the place from friends and decided to try it while driving through town. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service great. Asked the wait staff what their favorite dishes were because we were new to the place and they offered some great selections. It was clear that they liked the food there as well.

I had the ribs and they were as good as some of the best rib joints I have tried down south who pride them selves on the best bar-bar-Q. I will recommend that my friends try it and will make a point to return.
