Not Bad. Palmers is an ok place to go for lunch when its nice out and sit with a drink. The prices are a bit too high in my opinion, but for a quick appetizer and drink its not too bad. The weekend nights can get pretty packed, but they do have some good music and its pretty much the only place in the area to dance. All in all, not bad but they should offer some lower priced dishes/specials.

Very Expensive for a Meal at a Former Funeral Parlor. The food is OK, the portions are not generous, the prices are high for a meal in a former funeral parlor. The nose in the air attitude/manufactured ambiance attending this place is a total fake--historic? Historic funeral parlor!

If someone else is picking up the tab, GO, enjoy! If you're paying, you might be able to do better elsewhere...for seafood, for example, there's nothing better than Joe Fish in N. Andover...or the takeout/frozen/fresh fish joint on that side street by CVS. Now that's good fish--buy some prepared, or buy some fresh and raw and cook it up, or buy one of their frozen meals.

Best seafood in Andover MA..... My husband I regularly go to Palmer's on Saturday afternoon for lunch. It's always been better than

fantastic. Today we went at 5:00 PM for an early dinner - and I have to say I would give PALMER'S five ***** stars - the food and drinks were spectacular and the service was unbelievable - I ordered the PEI mussels to start - AMAZING - had the striped bass salad with wasabi dressing - or only $ 14 dollars - get out - My son Ben had the clam chowder and salmon salad which by all accounts was mind blowing- I was miffed and a little jealous by my husband's order for blackened seared salmon - it was the best dish of all.....scrumptious....we love the place - best food and drinks, ever!

Always stop for lunch when I'm in town. Although my husband and I live in Connecticut, we always stop in to Palmer's for lunch when we are in town for the weekend. The service is fast, personable and professional and the food is always sure to please. I always try something different, from both the regular menu and the awesome specials, and I have never been disappointed. (The soups are my favorite!) The function planner helped my sister put on a fantastic wedding shower for me in the upstairs function room and now that I am expecting my first child, I hope that someone surprises me with a baby shower there! Overall, the prices are good, the service is friendly, the atmosphere is comfortable- Palmer's is a no-brainer if you're looking for a good meal.

50th Anniversary review. We recently held our 50th Anniversary dinner party at Palmer's and were thoroughly pleased and satisfied with the entire evening. First of all, the function manager, Wanda, helped us to plan our happy event which made everything absolutely go well and smoothly. Secondly, our head waitress, Lisa, did a fantastic job in running the party and was always very pleasant and served everything in a very timely and professional manner. We found everything on our planned menu to be of excellant quality as well as presentation. Many of our guest commented on how delicious their meals were----and how well Lisa, and her staff, had been able to serve our group of 22 guest so well and smoothly. In particular, the Filet Mignon and the chocolate covered strawberries made a huge impression!! We had our party in the small room on the first floor----the Wine Room-----which is not only a lovely intimate room for a party of our size, but also a room we have used twice in the past for rehearsal dinners for our children----so, the room afforded us some extra happy memories. We would never hesitate to have another function at Palmer's---and in fact, would highly recomment it.

Overall great place for a casual lunch. Just returned from a great casual lunch in the tavern at Palmer's. There were 5 of us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals! The soup special today was Hungarian mushroom which was superb- chockfull of mushrooms in a creamy and flavorful soup. The sandwiches -pastrami which was very lean and tender and the grilled chicken roll-up which had a unique combination of avocado, chicken and a tasty sauce- were flavorful and the portions generous. The burgers are the best around! Palmer's has recently added their own homemade potato chips as a side to many of their sandwiches and these chips are simply divine, not greasy at all, just fresh and delicious. Even though the tavern was full today, our service was excellent. An overall great dining experience.

Enjoy the social tavern atmosphere. Within a 20 miles radius (excluding Newburyport) there is nothing like it.... choose between a comfortable social tavern atmosphere with flat screens to view the Celtics or Sox or dine quietly upstairs. For people like me that prefer dining in the tavern you can choose between the tavern and upstairs menu. The food is consistently very good, wait staff range from good to down right funny! Try a Petron Martini or sample from the wine by the glass list.

Great place for Steaks or just hanging out.. My wife and I celabrated our 16th year wedding anniversary at Palmers last Saturday night and I must say we could not of choosen a better place. We started out having our dinner on there front deck witch made for a very relaxing meal. The server was freindly and helpful. We both got steak, my wife got a Kansas City Steak and I got a Ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly and tender enough that we almost didnt need to use our knives. After dinner we went into there pub area were a live band was just going on. What else can I say about a place were you can have fine dining in one room then relax with a beer and listen to live music. I highly recommend Palmers for a night out or a special event.

The best place to eat in the area. My family and I have been going to Palmers for years. The staff is excellent and extremely friendly. They have tons of specials every day that are always amazing and supplement the regular menu really well. I go out to lunch a few days a week and Palmers is the only restaurant around here that I'm not sick of going to. The prices are reasonable and the food is always fresh. I highly recommend it.

Not a good experience. This restaurant is not an establishment I would ever visit again, nor would I advise any of my family or friends to visit. The food was average, but overpriced in my opinion. The service was also just average in my opinion. My horrible experience began when the restaurant staff mistakenly ran three separate charges through on my debit card adding up to be considerably MORE than what I authorized. The management and the owner himself proved to be completely uncooperative in removing the pending charges in a timely manor resulting in me not having access to my own money for over 4 days. Although the owner could have cleared the matter up in one day simply by contacting the bank by phone, he let me wait until the voids went through the system on their own (taking the 4 days). Not only was the management uncooperative, but completely unapologetic for the mistakes made by their staff and the inconveniences it caused my family. I recommend anybody to steer clear of this restaurant, but if you decide to give it a try, I would most definitely recommend paying in cash!
