“worst muscles I have ever had in my life gritty and god awful taste, waiter was slow as molasses portions were small”
expensive and poor food. $27 for a lot of cheap mussel and a small piece of lobster. $9 for a big plate with a small piece of salad and you cannot pick your own dressing
A New England institution where diners don bibs and crack open lobsters with their bare hands..
In Short
With 30-plus outposts up and down the Eastern seaboard, this Cambridge-based chain reels in a seemingly endless supply of after-work professionals and tired tourists. The look varies somewhat from establishment to establishment but a casually nautical theme and a crowd as loud as the ocean's roar are fairly consistent. Signature dishes include clam chowder, wood-grilled swordfish, steamed clams, and 2-pound lobsters that can be ordered baked and stuffed with scallops and shrimp.

Chewy Lobster dinner. terrible waiter.
Went to New England for the first time ever. Ate seafood at a large number of restaurants in the NE area. LSF was recommended for the lobster.
Went to the LSF at Burlington Mall. Hostess was very friendly. Waiter was another story. We ordered lobster. The last time we saw him was right after the meal was brought to the table. He asked if all was OK. Then we started eating. The lobster was very rubbery. Brocolli was undercooked. Contated a waitress at the next table for some service, since out waiter abandoned us. We commented on the chewy lobster. She must have contacted the manager, who showed up with our waiter. The manager asked if there was a problem. The waiter butted in and commented he showed up and asked if all was ok and we said it was. (That was before we started to dine.) The manager agreed the dinner was not right, and offered another lobster for each of us. We asked to recook the lobster. When it was brought back, it was still rubbery. The manager agreed something went wrong with the meal, and comped dessert. We ordered Boston Creme Pie. Waiter brought only one (not four). Manager came by to see how it was going... we got the other 3 BCP's quickly. Waiter stayed away from the table the rest of the meal.
We finally got his attention to get the check, and he said the manager comped the entire meal. On the way out, the manager caught us and apologized for the terrible meal.
I will try LSF again, and hope for a better experience.
