Horrible, the store is dirty,
overcrawded, horrible customer service.
The owner dosent have any time for the consigners.
This is a Wonderful Store.
I've found this store to be a very good store. The prices can be as high as an antique store, but that's because they want to get the best possible prices for their consignors. That being said, there are still bargains to be found. Prices are lowered over time if an item doesn't sell.
I beg to differ that they have only cheap junk. I've found many high quality antiques from time to time. The store is always changing and sometimes the good stuff gets snapped up. You definitely have to check in often.
By the way, no consignment store contacts sellers after their items sell. The rules for consignment are very clear and explained in the consignor's contract. I suspect the owner was frustrated by consignor's who often don't follow the rules. The owner is always polite to me because I am always polite and respectful to her.
very unpleasant experience. I was very disappointed and extremely frustrated with this shop. The proprietor was nasty, making the whole experience unpleasant. I gave them a number of items to sell; they never contacted me when they sold and when I called to check, they never returned my call. Finally, I went in and was told to come back after they looked into it. When I did return, they paid me for a few items and told me that the remaining two items "must have been stolen." One was a 4-foot candelabra, so I found that hard to believe. I do not recommend this place.
AN ANTIQUE DEALER'S DREAM!.
I have frequented this store for over 10 years so I was SHOCKED to read JoHos review! I couldn't disagree more!
This is one of the BEST consignment stores in all of New England! I have purchased many items over the years for personal use and for resale in my business Everything from Authentic Tiffany Jewelry, platinum and diamonds, sterling silver flatware and holloware, Georg Jensen, signed Modernist pieces, and other lovely rarities. The Shop's personnel are knowledgeable, genuinely warm, friendly and helpful. Items are carefully selected, and many are refused for conignsignment if not up to their high standards. The store is beautifully displayed, and it is a new and different store EACH time you go. Merchandise is priced reasonably, BUT....THEY ALSO HAVE AN AUTOMATIC REDUCTION PROGRAM! Every 30 days the price drops and you can tell by looking at the date on the ticket. if it is not sold it is taken off the shelf, so the stock never gets old or stale.
I have also sold through them as a consignor and was pleased my checks and their professionalism.
If you want to have lunch while there it is very close to the historic Wayside Inn. Bullfinches restaurant is conveniently located in the same plaza.(Although I have not eaten at Bullfinches my family has held a party there and said it was very good). There is also a Pizza place next door if you just want a salad or to grab something quick
My advice? Ignore Johos and just go go!
We have found great items and found many new and antique decorative and fun things for house, shopping can be relaxing, knowledgable people and a few of them are very entertaining as we shop and your dollar goes pretty far here, get a lot of Bang for your Buck!. Found we need to stop eachtime going down rte 20 and Bullfinches is at the opposite end of the plaza great area, cant wait to get back there.
thanks WAB & RLCB
Great For Home Decor. I have been shopping there for years! Have always had fun, and bought much of my home furnishings there..I have waterford glasses, found my china pattern , numerous sterling pieces, and too much jewelry to mention! Also have found paintings, lamps, and whimsical one of a kind gifts! I find that their prices are much below retail! Thanks so much for all my goodies!
Lots of Junque and Knick Knacks. I was surprised to find this shop filled with lots of small things. Basically everything is a knick knack. Nothing is of high quality. Despite this, prices are high. You can do better at local yard sales. Would be much better if they had a mix of quality. I would never visit again. There wasn't a single thing I would put in my house.
I'm wondering if you're referring to the right shop. We have lots of furniture, hardly all knick knacks. We have many quality items, including LLadros, Hummels, Waterford, Limoges, Roseville, sterling silver, fine crystal, and fine jewelry and vintage costume etc. Our customers are always telling us how fair our prices are, since we price things 1/3 to 1/2 of retail. It's too bad you didn't find one thing that you would put in your house. since there are lots of things that lots of people buy to put in their houses.
Fabulous. Great place love it and if you see something don't think about it just get it or it will be gone the next day believe me I found out....
