Great Food, Poor Service.
The food is always delicious. However, the service is usually bad and the staff border on rude. The hostess seems less concerned about her job than talking and joking with other staff members. The servers lack personality and don't seem to enjoy their job. I'm generalizing but the majority fit into my description.
The main reason you go to a restarant is for the food but service is part of the experience.
A for food D for service.
Best Mexican in Melrose.
I live in Malden, so Melrose is the next town over. Thus, whenever I'm craving some really good, non fast food Mexican food Mexico Lindo is the top of my list. It is a really cute sit down restaurant but also delivers. The restaurant leans more on the smaller side, so it can tend to get really crowded Thursdays-Saturday nights (not sure if they take reservations). Regardless, the atmosphere on busy nights is loud and fun which I like. Burritos there are my favorite, but I hear the fajitas are really good, too. Margs are top-notch, which is a must for a really good Mexican place. When I'm not down for strong tequila, they also have really good sangria.
Like I mentioned in the "Cons" section, the parking can be a hassle because the restaurant is located on a main street with side street parking only (no lot). Other than that, definitely a place to check out if you're in the area :)

Wednesday is Mariachi Night! Ole'.
Been there MANY times and always pleased with food, speedy and friendly service, booth and restroom cleanliness, etc! Guaranteed to be fun night esp. if you land on Weds! Bring some requests for mariachi band to play if you'd like - they are the best~
Enjoy!
Editorial Review. Authentic Mexican food is served in a casual and fun environment at this Mexican restaurant in Melrose.
Very good Mexican food. I'm a native of Texas and have lived in Boston for 9 years. I've been looking for a great Mexican restaurant here for years. I just might have found it at Mexico Lindo. The whole vibe here is positive. It's on Melrose's Main Street so it's easy to find and it's a nice, safe neighborhood. The interior is clean, inviting with fun Mexican flurishes. A full bar is complete with multiple Mexican beers, including my hard-tofind-favorite Bohemia, and more Teguila than you can shake a maracca at! The waitstaff was friendly and accomodating. The food was very good. I've only been once and had a large combination platter with a chicken enchilada, beef soft-taco, a beef tamale, rice and beans. They also bring chips and salsa for free (an unusual occurrence in New England, not so in Texas). Granted, that what I find atttractive here is the food is almost Tex-Mex (a delicious bastardization of Mexico's true cuisine), but there are many authentic recipes here too. I can't wait to go back.
