Favorite Newburyport Restaurant

I have been driving by that big church on Green Street and only recently realized there is an INCREDIBLE restaurant inside- Mission Oak Grill!!! It is really worth checking out how they were able to transform a church into a sophisticated restaurant with an open kitchen and amazing bar area. Kudos to the design team. On my few visits service has been professional and I would feel very comfortable entertaining clients here. The food has been very consistent but my favorites are the tuna tartare and the filet mignon...

Great Rib-eye

I love the Mission Oak Grill. I went with my girlfriend one night and while we were waiting to be seated, we had a few drinks at the bar and some appetizers. The bartender was a really cool, funny guy and the Onion soup was really good. When we were seated, I ordered the rib-eye steak, my girlfriend got the filet mignon. Her filet was cooked perfectly and she really enjoyed it. My rib-eye Steak was fantastic; it was huge and cooked perfectly. It was so good that I was literally laughing as I ate it. I will definitely visit again soon; great meats.

All in all a great night.

I had an exceptional dinner last night at Mission Oak.

Ambience is nice enough, with the best perk being that you're very well spread out in the dining room so you can easily have your own conversations without hearing others or being heard.

The drinks were pretty great. My dining partner and I stuck with vodka based drinks, and were especially fond of the Martinis Drinks were great, but they were potent. *

Food was across the board good, with some exceptional offerings. We started with Tuna Tartar which I thought was outstanding. We each had the filet and they were both delectable and cooked perfectly. We had a soft chocolate cake for dessert and were stuffed.

Service was great the whole night. Our server started off a little over eager, but once she realized the pace at which we were trying to enjoy ourselves things went smoothly. She was personable, but not overbearing and had some solid suggestions.

We will be back.

Great food , great place

For a great meal in a nice restaurant, this is the place. Compared to it's steak house rivals, Mission Oak offers a great value and some very nice dishes.Loved the scallops the food is pretty darn good and the ambiance is quite nice too.

Give me the fries

My husband and I have been here a few times and always had a great meal. this time I had the Mixed Grill. I thought it was great. The fries had me wanting more. My husband had the Tips and potato salad like he always does and they were done to perfection. We always come back and will continue to go there. always a great time.
