Great Service/Good Food/Casual Environment/Affordable. I am a Divorce Coach/Consultant in CT, MA, and NY and was meeting a client in the Suffield area. They suggested Michael's Pasta in the Pan for its piano bar and comfortable/casual environment to talk. We had work to do, and were not looking for anything rather high end. I was surprised to read these reviews! I found the service to be excellent and the food to be quite good. It was affordable and offered a unique twist, having the meal served in the pan. Clever!! Our experience was very nice. Comfortable, casual, and served the purpose for my meeting. DivorceSupport1dotcom
worst service ever, stay away.
The food was ok, but the service ruined any chances of having a good meal. The server was slow, never asked us if we wanted refills. We were there for over an hour waiting for our salads while every table around us that came an left after we were seated got their salads and meals. After an hour waiting for salads and her to check in and ask us we needed anything she nerver came to us. We then asked another employee for the manager, guess who comes over as the manager, our waitress. She was in our face and rude. she pointed and told us they were busy, and stil didnt ask us for refills. We had to ask for them. When we asked for the owner we were told he left for the evening. After a call the next day we found out he was there. The ownership doesnt care about service or its customers. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Save your money and stress and pick another establishment. Our friends 30th bday here was ruined and we will never return. He actuall asked us when we called what it is we wanted from him, we told him nothing..this is your business. All we wanted was an apology. This service will catch up to them.
Thanks for a great experience Michael!
Robbery!.
Not Recommended.
The Veal Parm tasted more like Pork parm. Plenty of pasta but little seafood in my Scallops Alfredo. We were never offered a second drink. Thought the server decided to keep the change without asking! but finally returned after a long delay. Service was fair, food was hot but $17.95 for pasta and 4 ounces of scallops doesn't win my vote. Way over priced for what your getting. Bertucci's is much better and priced more affordable. Won't even consider going back.
awesome italian food, service and atmosphere!. We love the smell and taste of awesome food and Michaels Pasta in the Pan is the only place for great italian food in this area! We went last night and the aroma of sauteed garlic and sauce was just the start. No sooner did we sit down, our server brought hot baked rolls with a dipping oil that was the best. The 4 of us shared appetizer of spicy calamari and sauteed artichoke hearts....it was so tasty and the calamari was tender and had the perfect blend of spices. All of our entress were even better! My husband had the Veal parm and it was so tender he did not even have to cut it with a knife. I had the chicken francaise and it was light and full of flavor not overloaded with butter. The wine list is amazing. Our server was fun and very helpful and pleasant. If you have not been, you HAVE to try it .!!! .... we can't wait to go back!
Unprofessional.... As a chef/owner of a LA Restaurant, I came home to visit with my Dad for Fathers Day. They insisted we dine at Pasta in the Pan which turned out to be a huge mistake. Service at the bar was rude. We were annoyed watching the cocktail waitress/bartender harass 30 year olds for ID's while making us wait for beverages. The appetizers were served hot and prompt. The dressing on our Caesar salads tasted like a combination of what was left in the fridge from the past week. We were disappointed to find out the table next to us was offered dipping oil with their bread while we were not. I had Chicken Mississippi which was plenty spicy, but the dish gave new meaning to the word chicken. It appeared to be 'hand shredded' instead of sliced and must have been overcooked and refrigerated prior to making this entree. It lacked tenderness and flavor and perhaps the addition of jalapeno's was a way to use up old product without being noticed. My Dad had the Scallops Alfredo with Spinach and although he said it was good, it looked pasty and dry, as if it was made earlier and reheated. It lacked the creamy consistency expected from a quality sauce. It appeared to us that the ingredients were not the freshest or of the highest quality which we expected in regards to the priceyness of their meals. When questioned about our meals, the staff appeard to be inexperienced and unprofessional going from one server to another attempting a suitable answer. I would certainly not recommend this place based on our experience. I am sure Mass has more to offer than Pasta in the Pan. Avoid.
AVOID WASTING YOUR MONEY!!. The first thing I noticed with my Scrod dinner was that it was not hot, not even warm. I took a few bites and saw something in the folded over piece of fish which was sitting atop a few leaves of sauteed spinach. Yup a WORM, absolutely disgusting. The waitress was no where in sight so I brought the pan to the front desk, where I found her getting ready to seat a few people. I explained and showed her the WORM. She took the pan from me and again asked what the problem was. No, I'm sorrys, can I get you something else, nothing. A few minutes later Michael came to the table and asked what the problem was. I explained to him that the fish had a worm in it and asked for a plate of sauteed spinach without the fish. He served me 5 leaves of spinach on a scratched fiestaware plate and walked away. Again, no apology or offer of another meal. The kicker to the whole dinner was that we were charged $8.95 for a few leaves of sauteed spinach. Once the bill was paid I found Michael in a corner reading a book and informed him of how dissatisfied I was along with being apauled that he would even charge us for the spinach, let alone $8.95. His response, "Fish have worms in them, they come from the ocean". My opinion, Michael is a disgrace to the restaurant industry. I told him that I would let it be known to whomever would listen how awful his food was and how blase his attitude was. I hope those of you that read this review will avoid Michael's Pasta in the Pan in Agawam, MA.
Avoid Michael's any night!!!. We got a gift certificate and that is the ONLY reason we went. Prices were way too high as shrimp scampi alone was almost 20 bucks compared to Red Rose at 15 (and Red Rose was out of this world). Had lasagna and I bet it was frozen!!! My husband had macaroni and meatballs and said it tasted just like hospital food!!! Would never go there again. Red Rose rocks!!!
Great Food, Terrible Terrible Service. We heard the food was excellent, so we went to see for ourselves. The first time was a Wednesday night, and the restaurant was not busy at all. At one point, our waitress left us alone for 1 entire hour. Since the food is served in actual pans, we had a full table of metal pans in front of us- we ended up clearing the table ourselves into a nearby bus-tray. Food was great as we heard, but we were there for a total of 3 HOURS!!!! Unacceptable. Since the food was so good- we gave it a second chance. We will never go back. The man who sat us (who turned out to be the owner MICHAEL) was extremely rude and made us feel like we were bothering him by coming in. The group of 4 people behind us were also displeased with his attitude and actually left the restaurant. Not to mention the waitress who was at the hostess stand swearing about not wanting to wait on "so many tables"- really unprofessional. So, again we ate some great food, and got out of there as quickly as possible. There are a lot of great italian restaurants in this area with staff that aims to please it's customers. This place is not worth it. If you are willing to travel to Hartford, CT- go to Francesco's Ristorante, fabulous service & food, great entertainment.
