Sun Tan City Hermitage, TN. I have been going to Tanning Beds all over tan for years and sun tan city Is GREEDY!!! It is nothing like it used to be and everytime I walk in there the staff is always pushing packages on me and get my credit card number It's Ridiculious.. The beds for a single visit are jacked up so that you feel guilty spending that much on a single visit and go for the unlimited monthly memberships for six months etc. This Place is unreal and I will not give sun tan city another dollar of mine. You are guaranteed a tan in their beds but also feel robbed leaving. I miss the old mega tan sun tan city used to be before sun tan city got all corporate and greedy!

No sense of urgency! I hate going to tan now!. Where I have always enjoyed tanning in the past in previous salons, I cringe at the thought of going now at the Hermitage location of SunTan City. The reason is the length of time each visit takes and the staff. If I go for a 12-15 min bed, the LONGEST I should be there is 20 minutes tops from the time I arrive to the time I am in my car. Not the case at all! It does not matter if there is a long line (most always the case) or no line....there is ALWAYS a reason I end up in there waiting. Either they are not staffed adequately, or beds must be cleaned (and may I add that when I get this last reason, many times, I will sit there and wait as they check in 10 more people in line before the first bed will be cleaned). Also, many times, those that came in AFTER me will get a bed BEFORE me in this situation....and these people had to wait for their bed to get cleaned too. (Should not the first person there get the first cleaned bed??? Am I totally off base here?!) Staff has no sense of urgency. At times, I'll go toward the end of the night to Versa Spa tan, and am told "Oh, it is not working." Well, I know they have just cleaned it and do not want to let me use it. This could be at 9:15pm even...hardly their close time. Anyways, if I have to hear those stupid "SunTan City. Let yourself shine. Let yourself shine today...." commercials I think I'll scream. Can you tell these people have gotten on my ever last nerve? Oh, and the SALES TACTICS....the staff is so annoying with trying to upsell you every single time on their lotions. Leave me the hell alone, ya hear??!!!!!

UPDATE -- MAY 2009: I am sad to say that no matter how much staff turnover this Hermitage office has, not any of them have: 1) a sense of urgency 2) enough intuitiveness to know when to NOT try and upsell their customers, 3) knowing how to prioritize customers in line, or 4) enough sense to hire a bed cleaner to assist the two cashiers so that their customers are taken care of in a "reasonable" amount of time. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I've come in as the first customer and been told there are no beds cleaned (even the lower level beds) and have to wait 15 more minutes to get a bed. I cannot tell you how many times I've come in to see sooo many beds empty but have everyone just sitting and waiting for beds while the cashiers try to upsell lotions (and on 3 occasions, I have watched TWO cashiers try to upsell ONE customer when no beds are clean and customers are waiting!!!!) I cannot tell you how often I sit and wait for my VersaSpa for 25 mins. I cannot tell you how often I sit and wait for beds while the cashiers think it's a better idea to check in the 12 people behind me (and sell them) than to clean a dang bed so their customer who's been sitting there 15 minutes can go in. The list goes on and on. I am not alone in this. Every single time I go almost, we patrons sit in the chairs and are in disbelief at how these kids (and ADULTS that work there) can't figure this job out. How hard can it be to prioritize, clean beds, and check guests in? I pay for the top level package and it's sooo not worth it. I am really questioning myself at this point and will be making changes most likely. DON'T GO HERE!!!! I agree with the poster below! For me to write this....well, just know that it must be REALLY really bad.
