New Sag Harbor Italian restaurant from a former Conde Nast CEO is testing its goods with preview lunch and dinner menus; it officially launches Memorial Day weekend (when a patio will open as well).

So, in a word: GO! This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and private chef who I shared a house with back in the early part of the 21st century (I know, only a few years ago!). We arrived at the Tutto this time on the Eve of New Year's Eve on a cold night in Sag Harbor where we weren't sure what our options were going to be. At the intersection of Bay Street and Rt. 114, I noticed the lights were on and I said to my partner, let's go and check it out! Boy am I happy we did. During the winter months the fire roars, laughter and smiles continue to grow, just as if it were August when we first tried this fantastic little gem addition to the quaint village of Sag Harbor. We were asked to choose the seat of our choice, it was almost 10 o'clock and the rustle and bustle of the evening dinner crowd was coming to an end. There is a vibrant bar scene with a comfortable table adjacent to the main bar which overlooks the Sag Harbor Marina. Guy took a seat looking at the dining room on the banquette and I was seated facing the wall, but with the bonus of a huge beveled mirror that allows for great views of the restaurant and nature beyond. A chianti was selected as the evening's wine and we ordered two glasses. Appetizers included rock shrimp and calamari served crispy with a marinara dipping sauce and the carpaccio with caper berries (love them), backed cheese and shredded zucchini. Entrees were Grilled Swardfish with Roasted Cauliflower and micro greens and sweet sausage, peas, carrots and rigatoni in a light red sauce. Dinner completed with another glass of wine and pana cotta with a raspberry sauce and fresh mint. Cannot wait to go back again sometime soon. Call and see if they take reservations. Happy Eating! Always try one of the pasta courses.

Great friendly restaurant, just in the "nick" of time, a nice break from the "tony" hamptons usual fare. Great food, the Sunday family style dinner must be the best value in the hamptons.
