Much better places to eat.. So many better restaurants in Nashville. Decor is dated and everyone seemed to be 60+. Food was ok. Corn cakes were good but greasy, meat was tough and chewy. Chips were good. We didn't think it was worth the money and won't be back.
Nero's Grill A Must stop Place to eat!. I walked into this restaurant and found the people very inviting. I received home town treatment with 5 star class. The food was amazing (you have to try the chips they make em them selves!!) the servers were only there to make my visit a top shelf experience. I am so glad I found Nero's!! I even Spotted Tim Tebow there who was apparently in town for a speech. I imagine with class and elegance like this you would expect the most elite of Nashville and people who just love great food, music, and service to visit a place like this. Thanks John for a great place to visit!
An Amazing Dining Experience.
Do you know that feeling you get when you walk into your mother's home and smell the wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen and feel the warmth that radiates from those walls...this is the feeling I had when I walked into Nero's. My date and I were greeted warmly at the door and seated promptly. Our server was a beautiful young lady named Addie and she was amazing. Her knowedge of the menu was impressive and she made us feel "at home" which was such a welcome feeling after a stressful work day. There was a roaring fire in the fireplace and we were served the famous white bean soup and corncakes. The owner, John Griswold stopped by to personally check on our service and was a delight to meet. We were later honored to meet "Nero" himself and I can not begin to describe what a pleasure it was to meet this charming southern gentleman.... Our meal was prepared to perfection and we topped off our meal with an unbelievable warm chocolate cake.
This has to be one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I have had in some time and I am looking forward to many return trips to sample more of their menu...
Rude!. I went in there and asked the hostess a simple question. The hostess (an older lady) was very snotty to me. Her attitude was as if I should be glad that they allowed me in. I wasn't dressed poorly. Who do you think you are??? The French Laundry? Seriously guys. Does it hurt to be pleasent? Anyway, I turned around and walked out, called my friends that I was meeting there and we elected to go elsewhere. Clearly you guys think very highly of yourselves. Good luck with that. I won't be back.
Best Mother's Day Ever.
There were nine of us for brunch on Sunday on what will most likely be my Mother's last Mother's Day. Her failing health has made it very difficult to get her out and your staff made every effort for it to be a lovely and dignified occasion. The food was awesome as always, never lets us down. Thank you for the rose, the servers, especially William and the lovely complimentary group photo, which we shall cherish. So glad you all are here.

Poor experience -- and on Mother's Day!.
My wife, son and I dined at Nero's Grill on Easter Sunday and were positive enough about that experience to return on Mother's Day. We noticed a distinctly different atmosphere; thing were hurried, even hectic. We were rushed into the restaurant, seated and had our drink order taken. After that we hardly saw our server-- except to have our plates and cutlery removed. I returned from the restroom to find EVERYTHING gone. In brief, we got what my father called 'the bum's rush." The bill came to $99.06 (definitely not a bargain for the standard Sunday buffet fare Nero's provides). The crowning indignity was truly sad: my wife let the place without a rose (every other mother got one). This produced tears, I am sorry to say.
We will not return to Nero's Grill.
Best Food & Service in town!!!. The service was unbelievable. Our server, Herman, rocks! My husband & I had the grilled parmesan oysters. We could have eaten this all night it was so delicious & fresh. We finished it before the shells had time to cool! Then their crispy corn cakes were fried to perfection & the salads were good also. My husband had the special stuffed halibut. It couldn't have been anymore tasty with the shrimp, tomatoes & spinach stuffed in a puff pastry. It just melted in your mouth & everything was fresh as usual. I had a filet stuffed with mushrooms in a red wine demi-glace with carmelized onion & I savored every bite. This was my 4th time to eat here & I haven't been disappointed yet. Our 9 yr. old enjoys it too. I could eat here every day. I'm trying to persuade my husband to bring me for the mother's Day brunch. It sounds fantabulous!
excellent food and wonderful service. when you can have great food and good wine served by a knowledgable and great server like i had for my birthday dinner why would you go any place else It was my first time dining at Neros but it won't be the last. Everyone in Nashville should experience this wonderful jewell. Keep up the good work.
Great food. The restuarant is beautiful, the food couldn't have been better. So happened to be a special on our dinners which we didn't expect. That was great. The waiter was very attentive. When the bill came, I just looked at the bottom total and added a little over 20% tip. My husband asked me how much our dinner came to and when I told him he looked at the bill and saw the waiter had already added a 33% tip so he almost got over 55% and there were only three of us at the table. Are we not suppose to make that decision?
Great Place to Eat in Nashville. I love Nero's! It's a great place to go for a leisurely lunch or a romantic dinner. The food is always outstanding. The staff at Nero's really makes me feel like they want me there. There is always a friendly face at the entrance to say hello. The servers are attentive without being overbearing and my glass is never empty. It's one of the few, reasonably priced restaurants in the area, that I've found, that will let you make a reservation, no matter how big or small your group is! I eat here often and always make a point of taking out of town guests there at least once during their visit.
