Awful Experience

My family always made it a point to stop at Just Baked on our yearly vacation to Topsail for the cinnamon rolls. We heard that they moved to a new location so we called to find the address. For whatever reason, it was like pulling teeth to get the employee to tell us the new location. Actually, it took two different phone calls. When we finally found the bakery the employee was very rude to the point that she told us to stop talking because we were getting her confused. She absolutely did not want to be bothered to take our orders. The bakery was only opened 30 minutes and they were already out of cinnamon rolls. In fact, there was barely anything in the cases at all. We ordered some cupcakes, which were very sweet and dry, and a very bland cannoli. Plus, she told us they only had three plates so we would have to share them. She was much more interested in another woman who came in just to talk to her.

We also were going to try the Just Baked Bistro but after this experience we quickly decided not to. It almost seems like it's under new ownership because I can't believe this is the same business that we've been going to for the past few years. This was such a disappointment because we always looked forward to going to the bakery for coffee and a roll. We won't be doing that ever again.

Never again

This was the final trip to this bakery. My sister and I were the first customers of the day and we were met by a very rude and disrespectful employee who found it difficult to complete my order without complaining throughout. A lesson in customer service is needed desperately. How difficult is it to say a quick hello or smile. I do not want to hear you complain about other customers who are helping to pay for you salary. There are other bakeries to visit on the island. This is not the first negative experience I have had at Just Bakedbut it will be my last.

Horrible!

I never write reviews but after my experience today I felt like I should. I decided to stop at Just Baked early this morning to pick up some treats for my kids. I was shocked to see that there was hardly any selection to choose from.

I tried asking the woman working there what type of cookies were in the case and she didnt even seem sure. She seemed very annoyed that I was even asking her.

I ended up getting some cupcakes that had to be the worst I have ever eaten. The frosting was grainy and way too sweet. The case with the cookies had at least 4 flies in it. Disgusting.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I was thinking about trying their resturant too but I think I'll save my money. If the bakery is this bad I cant imagine what the rest of the food must be like.

Bad WEDDING cake!!

My experience with Justbaked was horrible. I thought everything was good at first, boy was I wrong. First of all I live in Raleigh and got married in Topsail. I had a family member that was going to make my cake and her husband got very sick and she was unable to do it for me so I called Justbaked a few months before my wedding, after looking through her "cake gallery" pictures on her website, which at this point I don't believe the same person even made my cake, the one with all the shells on it on her "cake gallery" was not mine. Surprisingly they told me they would be able to bake me a wedding cake. The owner sent me sketches she made and pictures of wedding cakes because I wanted a sand castle and she seemed like she really wanted me to be happy. I told her EXACTLY what I wanted and even picked it from her photos and sketches. The day of my wedding she came to the house I was getting married at, dropped off the cake and left without saying a word to myself or my mother. I NEVER even met her or saw her. Once I saw her "sandcastle" cake I was devistated. It was one of the ugliest cakes I have ever seen, It was leaning and the FROSTING (I asked for fondant) was cracked and dry looking. It looked NOTHING like what we had discussed. When I called her multiple times and expressed how unhappy I was she never returned my call. We had to call her from my mothers cell phone and act like a potential customer for her to even call back. When she did she was rude, said she thought the cake was fine and she would not give me any of my money back ($400) Moral of the story. DO NOT HAVE JUSTBAKED BAKERY BAKE YOUR WEDDING CAKE. I will forever have an ugly wedding cake in my wedding pictures. Thanks alot Justbaked.

Best place to eat on Topsail

Try the fried oyser appetizer. Wines are nice and priced fairly. Dinner entrees are excellent as was the serivce. I will go back again and again!
