Do Not Spend your money Here!. I have to agree with all the other bad reviews..Horrible service,,awful food. go somewhere else!
Best restaurant for a great experience. I Love Corner Pub Midtown! The staff there is so friendly and accommodating and their food is always good, fresh, and affordable. I am a regular and love seeing that they have put in a patio out back to move the party outside on nice nights. They have great drink specials, and a fun drink called a Do Do Bird that is to die for. This week they have a Masters Golf Tournament contest going on for a chance to win a golf weekend trip. Last month it was a March Madness Brackets contest for a chance to win a HDTV. There is always something fun going on at this Corner Pub! Love it!
Terrible Management, please go somewhere else!.
Please, everyone, DO NOT GO TO CORNER PUB. Of all the bars in the area, there is no reason to choose Corner Pub over the others. Some better ideas: Broadway Brewhouse, Winners, Losers, Rack Room, Melrose, etc. Just please don’t go to Corner Pub. They don’t deserve your business.
The manager’s name is Jeff and he is NOT good at his job. Since a waitress never took our order after about 40 minutes of waiting (we had to order at the bar instead), I asked another waiter if she could send the manager over to our table. So she did, and it was not a pleasant experience, to say the least. Instead of apologizing, Jeff was a defensive schmuck from the get-go and was extremely patronizing. After about a 5-minute conversation, he called my friend a “motherf-er” and asked us to leave the bar. What kind of customer service manager calls their customers names, much less curses at them? Obviously, that’s quite offensive. So we left and he sent the bouncer to follow us out. That’s right, he sent the 6’5” and 240 lb. bouncer to follow three sober and insulted customers out of the place to make a scene. What a douche!
To be fair, I don’t think Jeff is used to solving real problems and I understand that you can only expect so much from a middle-aged country bumpkin who runs a sports bar. His communication skills are clearly lacking and I’m sensitive to that. I’m sure he usually offers a free shot and the problem goes away. He also might have had a terrible week and took it out on us. Regardless, you can’t curse at your customers and get away with it. That’s just not okay.
As a fellow consumer, please don’t give them business. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Never go here..
I never write citysearch reviews, but after multiple BAD experiences with CP2, I felt the need to warn any unsuspecting patrons. I would hate for anyone from out of town to think this poorly-managed excuse for a sports bar represents such a great city.
1st experience: Waitress changes channel of tv my friends and I are watching MID GAME. When asked why, she said "Those guys asked me to". There was two of them, ten of us. Makes no sense to me.
2nd experience: Group of 10. $50 worth of shots "appear" on my tab. When I disputed charges, I was asked by a meathead to pay my tab and leave. I've got some cash in my wallet - you want that too, thief?
3rd experience: Group of 6. We show up before our game started. Sit in front of tv with a sign taped to it saying our game will be on that tv... until 5 mins left in 2nd quarter. Fathead changes channel. "Why'd you do that?", I ask. "Your game's on over there." Points across bar. Thanks genius. I'm not sitting there, and there aren't any available seats. Check please. Let's go to the Crow's nest.
My best guess is that this is one of those establishments ran by some kid with no experience whose parents had the money to help him out. Bars and restaurants like this have no place in Nashville, and I doubt this one will be open forever. Don't go.
Oh yeah. Don't eat the "Hot Chicken Chunks". You'll regret it. Trust me.
What a Fun Place To Watch Football. We just had the most fun ever at The Corner Pub Midtown last night watching the games. So they had both college games as well as the Titans preseason games, and by the end of the games it turned into just one big party! I will definately be back, I understand that they really rock during the UT games.
Don't go here unless you want a black eye!. After a great night with friends, CP was our last stop. An overly zealous bouncer literally pushed us out the door after last call. We had just purchased our drinks minutes earlier. Knowing it was closing time, we would have left soon anyway but the staff became instantly aggressive. My friend punched the guy after he was manhandled and forced to leave. We were in no way causing a scene until the bouncer was forceful. In what they call "self defense", they beat my 2 friends in the street. 4 guys on 1. We had been there only for the one drink and had been told that it was closing time. In no way, shape or form did they need to handle the situation like they did. CP, next time don't serve the drink if you don't want your customers to drink them! Of course. I highly suggest you stay clear of this place at closing time. This was an awful experience!
Um. Okay.. I'm not entirely ceratin that the last reviewer's comments would lure me to eat at Corner Pub. But then if he/she actually ate fried chicken "exploding with grease," mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese for LUNCH and isn't embarrassed by that, the review should be taken with a grain of salt (literally) anyway.
where everybody knows your name. A small group of friends and I are regulars every week same time, same days. We always try to sit in camren's section or Erin. They are the best servers there and make you feel like you are there only customer. my glass never goes empty and the prices are unbeatable. They make good conversation, not small talk but don't invite themselves to sit in on your group. just the perfect mix.
More than "just a bar"..
I work at Vanderbilt , so the Pub is within walking distance of my office. My coworker and I just got back from lunch there. I had never been there before and I always assumed it was just a bar.
I was wrong. They have a full menu. We ordered the Thursday special- Fried Chicken and 2 sides. Their fried chicken is basically a boneless breast. The breading is like that of chicken tenders. You can eat the chicken with your fingers or a fork. And it was exploding with grease when I put it in my mouth. The Mashed Potatoes and Gravy were made from scratch. I could tell because there was a chunk of potato in it. And the Mac and Cheese was excellent.
The prices were reasonable too. It was like $7.50 for the meal and whatever the Diet Coke was.
I will definitely go there again! Next time, I'll try something from the bar!
A great hang and friendly atmosphere!!!. I frequent Midtown CP and have nothing but good things to say about it. I read some of the reviews and was surprised at the un-friendly service complaints. I have always had excellent, friendly service. The managers and server staff chum it up with you like ole' college buddies and are very concerned about quality and service. I would recommend Midtown to anyone. The meat & 3 lunches are fantastic and the smoked food they do on Monday nights is the BEST in town. My personal Monday night fav. is the smoked pork tenderloin or salmon. Yum! Anyways, as far as I'm concerned Midtown get a big "2 thumbs up!" Check it out for yourselves......
