The best chinese/japanese food in C'ville. My wife and I eat here weekly. The dishes are all excellent. The service is personal and friendly. The restaurant is spotlessly clean. The price can not be beat.

GREAT Chinese / Japanese (Asian Fusion?) restaurant. We've been eating here for 2-3 years, it's our Cville favorite. The food is great, I think the Kyoto Curry is one of my favorite sets of flavors anywhere. Huge plus is the friendly staff, eat here more than twice and you'll feel like family. The "gourmet" teas are wonderful, we call the Citrus Honey Tea, Christmas Tea, somehow it's a Christmas tree in a pot, aromatic, sweet, perfect for a cold winter day or to ward off a cold. At Cville Dining Kyoto is usually in the top ten, in a small city that must have 100+ restaurants. Try it and you'll be back often!

Unasuming strip-mall storefront yields great Japanese and Chinese food. On a recent trip to C-ville, my wife and I stopped here. It's located in a strip-mall (one of many) off of north 29. This was (in my opinion) the best meal I had in C-ville on a four-day trip.

I ordered the steak teriyaki bento box with miso soup and wife ordere two appetizers of pan-fried dumplings and edamame. We ordered green tea with our meal. The green tea was served in a beautiful matching teapot and cups with an intricate asian floral design. Tea was loose-leaf, brewed in metal basket insert in the teapot. The tea was unbelievably excellent.

Edamame was great, wife thought dumpling wrappers were too thick and dumplings themselves were too large, she said the dumpling filling was very good. My miso soup wasn't exactly what I expected (I was comparing it to miso I had in Hawaii,) but was quite good. The bento box was a home run, all items were excellent: seaweed salad, tempura vegatables, steak teriyaki, dumplings and sticky white rice. A small butterfly shaped from sliced carat was a nice touch.

The restaurant may be the cleanest restaurant I have ever been in. The back of the shop has clear panes of glass (or plexiglass) so you can see the kitchen staff preparing your meal. There are about ten total booths lining each side of the restaurant and another eight or so tables in the center. The place is run by super-friendly folks. The night we were there, there were many regulars in the store that knew the staff.

Before leaving we were sipping our tea with nice asian music playing overhead...magic!
