Best Basic Haircut in Town & Great Stylists‎.
I've been going to this shop for a couple of years now for basic cuts and trims, the service & quality is great, and my wallet is very happy with the price. $10 or $12 (+$5 or so tip) for a quality haircut, no appointment and never a long wait. They also have the 20% off cards they give you if you're a regular (or probably just by asking, they seem pretty lax with them, probably to increase a tip, but either way it's less $ out of your pocket).
As of my last visit (12/08) the store was under a new manager, who apparently got rid of the couple of "so-so" stylists that worked there previously. I've never gotten much more than a basic cut/trim here, but most of the stylists are really great and my hair always looks great afterward. I'd totally recommend them, even if only for the maintenance and touch-ups between more full-service(and costly) salon visits. They've always remembered me when I return, and yes, I'd recommend them to mom, lol.. which is my own barometer of goodness.
Don't do it...have your kid cut your hair instead!. My hair was brutally maimed by Beth. The first time she ?finished? I told her that I wanted it to be a bit different ? she told me that it wouldn?t ?do right? that way. I went home, dried and styled my hair and realized that it was not what I had asked for (and angular bob ? I?ve had the same hair cut for 6 years, yes I know it?s boring but I like it and I never have to get much cut.) I do not like to change styles because my hair is very difficult to cut and I always ask up front if the stylist thinks they can handle it. I went back to Style America to get Beth to fix my hair. I asked her not to take any more length off the front (she?d already taken about 5 inches?which I had wanted to keep) and just increase the degree of the angle. I walked out with no angle on the left side, which was now hitting my face mid cheek and no more angle than what I walked in with on the right side, which hung just below my chin. Oh yes?.it was bad?.very very bad. I will never go to any Style America again and I suggest you run from this one?luckily, Jessica at Regis in Hickory Hollow was able to fix it. It?s not the length I wanted because Beth had already cut all of my hair off, but it is fantastic all things considered. If you?re thinking about going to Style America, save yourself the hair anxiety and just go to see Jessica at Regis instead.
