Lakewood's little secret!!!

Wow! Love this salon. I have tried so many different ones and always end up unsatisfied due to terrible service, bad cuts or colors or to hard to get in.

Jose is wonderful and really gets involved with all clients at the salon regardless of wheather he is doing the cutting or someone else. The atmosphere is great and the salon is clean and comfortable. I have never had to wait for my turn except one time and they gave me a compl. scalp massage and oil/cond. treatment while I waited. I have driven by this place for years and always wondered about it but finally decided to give it a try. It is a little pricey but well worth it. Once you try it you will be hooked. Also, Victor who does the hair coloring is AWESOME!!

I love my hair again!!

Like most people, I am concerned with the value I receive for my hard earned paycheck. I try to squeeze every last dime out of what I make and things like “maintenance” are necessities in my budget. One of those necessities is my hair. I have to get my hair colored frequently because it grows very quickly, (thanks Mom and Dad) and because I have a lot of premature gray (thanks again Mom and Dad.) When I go to a salon, I also want the very best service for my money, and if I did not receive good service, I would quickly change salons. Concerns I have with getting my hair colored frequently is that it not dry out my hair and another concern is, is it bad for the environment? I am very aware of the fact that everything we put in the sink drain winds up in our rivers and oceans. And my last concern, and admittedly the most important one, is: does the coloring product make my hair look, feel and behave better. At Jose Manuel’s, all of these concerns are met and my expectations are consistently exceeded. I would recommend this salon to anyone who has concerns about cost, how their hair looks and feels, the quality of service they receive, and if they want to help the planet. Ninety seven to ninety-nine percent of Aveda’s hair dye is plant-derived or plant-based and none of their dyes contain harsh chemicals. No wonder my hair “likes” the products. My hair isn’t dry and I haven't had more “natural” looking hair color ever! It looks natural because it is natural! My stylist, Victor is an absolute artist and I give him the highest marks for his demeanor and the fabulous head massage he includes with a shampoo. He is thorough with a haircut and very pleasant. I love the products he recommends so that I can achieve the look at home. This salon, while world-class, is not intimidating. The ambiance is warm and the décor is tasteful and relaxing. You can hear soothing water fountains and soft music in the background. A true spa experience even if you are only there for a hair service. The fragrance in the air is delightful. It is warm and cozy and the entire staff makes you feel pampered and well taken care of. The next time I have an appointment I am going to try the eyebrow threading and a mini facial. The list of spa services is extensive and I plan to try them all!! Thank you Jose Manuel Salon for delivering the best products and service I have ever experienced at a salon and spa. Five star service and products! I love my hair again!

Worst Reception I have ever received!

I normally don't pay any attention to other women's hair, but when the most energetic, happy blonde helps you pick up a bunch of cans in Albertson's (yes, I knocked them down)-and is still smiling-you notice! She was shopping too, and I commented on her hair. She handed me a business card and the very next day, I stopped in.

When I came in the door, no one was at the front desk. A lady came around the corner and told me "Rose" would be right with me. The phone starts ringing, and "Rose" comes around the corner and walks right past me, answering the phone and pretty much is yelling into it. After she hangs up, she acknowledges me, and I tell her I would like to schedule an appointment. She asks "For what?" I tell her I normally go to a Salon in Seattle, and I would like to make an appointment for a consultation, shampoo, deep condition and blowdry with whoever has been there the longest. She says, in a snippy tone, that would be Jose, then proceeds to tell me he isn't in right then. I once again repeat that I want to make an appt, wondering to myself, is this chick deaf? I add next week or the week after is fine. The phone rings again and she takes the call, shooting me a look like I am bothering her. I walk out the door. A few days later I stop in and what a change! The blonde from the grocery store is there! She is so cheerful and polite. The Salon is extremely busy, neither of the two women that were there on my first visit are there today-I can only hope for the owner's sake they have moved on. Needless to say, I still didn't book my appointment there, but at least I know where I can buy my skincare products close to home if I run low and get a dose of optimism and a warm welcome. When she is there anyway! My Golf and Tennis club was hoping for an Aveda salon closer to home, but this definitely will not be the one for our business.

No One Else Touches My Hair!!!

I walked into Jose Manuel Salon three years ago with a boring, blah hair style and have been going every six weeks since. I like my hair short and not just anyone can cut short hair. Going short takes trust and I trust Jose Manuel Salon completely!

I have tons of texture and style thanks to Jose and it looks great even as it grows out! I get compliments at least once a week! I will NOT go anywhere else for a haircut.

I also take advantage of Jose Manuel Salon's great esthetician to keep me hairless and girly in all the right places!
