What People Are Saying About Pacific Grill

In Short – Located in a historic brick building on bustling Pacific Avenue, this classy spot retains some of the building's turn-of-century charm while gently introducing modern touches. Exposed Edison light bulbs above the bar cast a warm sheen on the reclaimed brick walls, while glowing paper lanterns abstractly imitate sea life. The seasonal menu offers old-fashioned American fare with an upscale Northwest twist, including steaks, fish dishes, wedge salads and more.

Christmas at Pacific Grill
by Kathryn Briney
I want to be very respectful. Our waitstaff was great on Christmas Day. We were one of the first to arrive at the 5:pm reservation. My mother & I waited 11/2 hours for our meal. Wow, the profit margin was high & it showed! $40. for the lamb 2 grouped medialins & approx. 1/2 cup burnt vegies. I so very much wanted to like this place! I was ready to buy several gift cards. I told my husband I would be taking him .... But service was toooooo slow, food below par.. Sincerely, Kathryn
Some of the best steaks in Tacoma
by MattyRG
Second only to El Gaucho for steaks in the Tacoma metro area. And even then, its a close race.
Yes, the prices are going to be on the higher end, but just remember you get what you pay for. The steaks are always perfectly cooked and the service never disappoints.
One thing to mention, try the bib lettuce salad with green goddess dressing. Its awesome.
Birthday Dinner
by cjeffries28
I and a friend went to Pacific Grill last night for my birthday, had the Grilled Salmon topped with glazed Bing Cherries on top, Spanish rice and green beans!
For dessert, it was the Julia Childs Fudge Sundae, it was INCREDIBLE!!!
It was the first visit for both of us and let me tell you, we will for sure be going back again, soon!!!

Pacific Grill is a great restaurant in an awesome building in downtown Tacoma. I have eaten dinner and had their amazing happy hour and both are wonderful. You can tell the chef is playful with his approach to food. The happy hour menu has pages and pages of items for 50% off and not just small bites, there are full meals. Some of my favorites are the grilled oysters, the ramen bowl, fish & chips and the cuban sandwich. The restaurant is upscale but laid back, come as you are. Service is always top notch!
My "Go To" restaurant in Tacoma
by mattmike
Easily one of the best restaurants in Tacoma - it can hold its own against any place in Seattle, Portland, or San Francisco. A great place that gives you 5 star service and the food to match.
If you're looking for dinner and eating in the dining room you can't go wrong...though I can't recommend the Fried Chicken Dinner enough. It's only available on Tuesdays - but worth the wait. One of the best meals I've ever had, no joke.
If you're looking for something a little more relaxed - try the bar. The bar menu is as rich as most other restaurant's dinner menu. And during happy - the price can't be beaten. I could eat the Cuban Sandwich every day of the week - but the burger sliders, and oyster shooters are definitely worth checking out.
- Pros: Happy Hour Menu and Great Service
- Cons: Nothing
