Carlo and Umberto are Amazing!.
My whole family has been going to Carlo since he was in Lexington. He does exactly what you want. I wouldn't trust my hair with anyone but Carlo or Umberto. I've tried lots of places, including places on Newbury Street, but no place compares to this salon. Haven't tried the other hairdressers but I would expect they're great as well.
LIFESAVERS part deux.
Christine is amazing. I got the WORST cut of my life (reviewed under G20 Salon) and came to Christine at CU desperate for help. While my hair is almost beyond repair (only time will help some of the mess), she cleaned up the scraggly, uneven ends of my medium-to-long hair with a buzzer, which was scary at first but worked out well. She ended up not even washing my hair but instead cutting it dry (and straight) so she could see what had been done to it. She did the best she could to even it all out and blend the two-tiered, judy jetson style atrocity that I had been given previously, and now I can at least go out in public. It's not yet at the point that I think looks good, but what can you ask for $40 when the starting point was horrendous?
Umberto is a miracle worker! I got a hideous haircut at another salon and went to Salon CU to get it fixed. Umberto managed to salvage the shredded, frizzy mess the other stylist made on my head. I can actually do something with my hair now. The salon is lovely, quiet and very reasonably priced. I'm sticking with them!
