service so slow we never received our food!. Went here last weekend for a 50th birthday party. We were seated in the "function" room which is way too small for a party of 15! (and the restaurant states that they have room for 15). If someone got up, everyone had to get up to let them out. Arrived at 7:30 for our reservation, at 10:30 our food was still not on the table! They ran out of bread, they don't serve tap water, so you have to pay for expensive bottled water. Our 1 waiter for the 15 of us and thats not enough for a dinner party with a reservation! We did eat a couple of apps that they weren't out of, and were told we had to save our utensils for our dinner (which never came). Again can't comment on the food it never came out of the kitchen!

Get the Diva out of the Restaurant Business. We attended a 50th surprise party at this restaurant Saturday night that had been planned and confirmed for months. We arrived at 7:30 pm with the birthday guest. All other guests were there earlier. We walked out at 10:15pm - never having received our entrees or a proper explanation. As for appetizers - ordered at 8pm which was the same time we ordered entrees - received at 9pm old, greasy calamari - as they were out of everything. Including bread! Waiters and servers ignored us. Told us for 3 hours "food is on the way". They gave us no utensils or dishes! At 10:00pm they told us, "The owner is here now." Well that did no good - no explanation, no apolgies. We never saw the owner and we walked out at 10:30pm and will never go back. As bad as the wait staff was, the owner should be ashamed of herself.

Non-existing service & Discriminated!. I have been to La Stanza Diva plenty of times with friends from work and really enjoyed the food and service. The food is delicious and I always referred people there and as well had a great experienced. But this all changed after my visit on Saturday May 8th. I had a party of 14 people; we were celebrating mother’s day and my father in-law’s birthday, we were extremely discriminated (We are all Dominican’s). Our reservation were for 8:00pm, and not only was our table not ready, we were being ignored by the ENTIRE STAFF, including a guy at the bar who kept telling me that our waitress/waiter would be coming soon, not one waitress came to our table to ask if we wanted water or bread or to take our order… we waited 1 hour and then we just decided to leave, so when I go up to the bar and tell the guy that we were leaving because no one was paying us any attention, as I was talking the guy cuts me off and very rudely tells me, okay, no problem, Good bye! I was AMAZED that they would let 14 people leave their restaurant that easy, I mean this bill would’ve probably been close to $500.00 dollars and instead of working with us and at least apologize all we got was “OKAY, NO PROBLEM, GOOD BYE!” ????? There was a table with 6 people that had gotten there a little bit after us and when we left, this table had already finished their meal.

I was extremely embarrassed with my extended family, this was unacceptable to me, and yes, I will say it, they are RACISTS, RACISTS RACISTS!!!!!!!!!! I will never ever in my life give La Stanza Diva restaurant my business again. It really hurts because I loved their food, but now I wonder about the other times that I’ve been there… I never had a problem with service, but was this because I was always there with American people???????

We ended up going to Bertucci’s in Woburn, and not only was the food and the prices good, but THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING!!!!! We had our drinks and bread in a matter of 5 minutes.

Message to Chef Lynn: you really need to invest in educating your staff on customer service. Read this article, I think it will benefit your restaurant:

Pricey and Poor Service. I am new to the area and was eager to check out Stanza as it is very near to me and BYOB. Armed with a nice bottle of red wine I tried it out on a Tuesday night.

I stood at the front desk for 10 minutes, no exxageration, before I walked myself into the dining area to ask the 'hostess' if it was a seat yourself environment. She said no, looked at me puzzled and told me I could sit where ever I liked however.

As other reviewers have said, the menu is EXTENSIVE. But as you can guess with so many options, I doubt they do any of them particularly well. At least they did not do my Vitello Arencia well. And yes, they gave me enough to feed a small battallion, but I don't know enough people that would willing share it.

The service continued to be cold, impersonal and slow throughout the evening, despite there being only moderate traffic.

Pro: The lobster bisque, although overpriced, was not horrible.

Will not go back or suggest to a friend.

Overpriced. The restaurant doesn?t seem very clean and the entrance smelled musty/moldy. The flavor of the food was average at best. They certainly do give you a LOT of food but I would have preferred a smaller portion with more flavor. Customers assume they are getting a great deal because the restaurant allows you to bring your own wine however La Stanza makes up for it by overcharging for very average food. (How can you justify charging 20 for a bowl of pasta with no meat?) They do allow you to split a meal however they will charge you 10 dollars for the service. Our bill was $180 with out the tip and of course with no alcohol for 4 people. I should note that we split an appetizer and shared dessert. I do not mind spending $25 for a bowl of pasta in a place that offered a nice tablecloth and/or cloth napkins however the tables at La Stanza were covered with cheap plastic tablecloths and paper napkins. Also, beware of the wait staff trying to ?up sell? menu items i.e San Pellegrino extra appetizers etc?. Do not go out of your way to try this place. If you want good Italian food in the suburbs try Cafe Molise in Wakefield instead. They have a much nicer atmosphere, better food, large portions etc and they aren?t as expensive

Exquisite Food. A friend had told me that I needed to come here and try the food, glad I did.

I usually go out in Boston a night or two during the week for dinner but was extremely impressed with La Stanza Diva Ristorante .. who knew right in Woburn center?!?!?

The service was fantastic the crowd was mixed but no pretentious attitudes here!!

Google them and check out the menu they have something for everyone, what more can you ask for great friendly service, good prices with nice big portions ( enough to take home unless you are real hungry ) with exquisite food. I was very impressed.

Top Notch Food. What can I say top notch food with an incredible selection!!

We had mussels and brushetta to start we were told to bring our own wine so we did that and they put it right on ice for us.

The service was better than any service I have received even places in Boston!! We then ordered dinner my fiancé got Scallops Fra Diavolo, and I had the chicken parm both dishes were out of this world, the portions were huge ( enough to take some home ) and you could taste that they were made to order it took a bit for the food to come out but it was well worth the wait : )

Great Food. We went in on a Thursday night I was a little put off by the decor when I walked in but I am so glad I didn't let that stop me!! They had a great band playing not too loud great oldies ect .. good dinner music. The service was outstanding we had Alana she was wonderful, the food was out of this world huge portions a great selection of food also the menu was several pages so it was a hard to choose from but a good reason to go back. I had a dish with eggplant raviolis it was to die for I highly recommend it. This was some hidden jewel we found just as good if not better than anyplace in the North End!! Oh yes and you can bring your own beer and wine!
