Awesome food!. Everytime my husband and I have been to this Mellow Mushroom, we've never left disappointed! We love their cheesy garlic bread and pizza. It can still take awhile to recieve food, even on a slow night, but we enjoy the atmosphere and would recommend this restaurant to anyone:)

A Failing Grade for Mellow Mushroom Food, Service ,and Atmosphere. I ate at Mellow Mushroom for the first time last week. I usually give restaurants a second chance, but not this time!

At 5:30 pm on a Thursday night, in an uncrowded restaurant ,it took almost 50 minutes to get two of three pizzas to our table. The third one arrived nine minutes later, burnt to a crisp on the bottom. The waiter would not take the pizza off the bill because, he said, the pizza "had lots of toppings, so it takes longer to cook"!

The wait staff was unattentive, rude, and unapologetic. The kitchen staff appeared unschooled in pizza making.

The pizza itself was of very poor quality. The people who give this place good reviews don't know good pizza. I have lived and eaten pizza in Chicago and New York. The pizza dough is more like hoagie roll bread than good crust with an "al dente" bite and soft interior. The sauce covered only about half of the crust, and so thinly spread that only CSI could detect it. The toppings were not fresh and were provided in very skimpy portions for the price.

I recommend Alfonso's and, for a chain, Westshore pizza. over the mushroom . I'll not be back!

Try the soft pretzels!. Yummy -- yummy -- yummy and a great beer list too! The pizza I had was really enjoyable and reasonably priced!

The Magical Mystery Tour Pizza is outstanding and there is no substitute.. I grew up with Mellow Mushroom in Atlanta. I was so excited when I heard that they were opening in Tampa. They use unbleached, spring water dough and the freshest & most unique toppings. You can still order a pepperoni or house (supreme) and it is wonderful, but I highly recommend the Magical Mystery Tour w/Chicken. It has a pesto base, with low fat mozzarella, chicken, portabello mushrooms, spinach, feta & jalapenos. You can get it with Chicken or Sausage, but I prefer Chicken. Delicious, worth the drive. Oh, and I can't forget to mention, their tap selections are excellent. Mostly, if not entirely import. The staff is offbeat & I think they are knowledgable and perfect. 5+ stars!!! Love this place!

So worth the wait.... I have been a huge fan of this Mellow Mushroom since the day they opened. The restaurant is one of the cleanest I've experienced in all my days as a server during college. The food is delicious and the beer selection is enough to make you dizzy... and it will if you try enough of it! The staff is knowledgable and unique - I have had more than a few interesting conversations with the friendly servers and bartenders. They really take care of their regular customers! Mellow Mushroom is a bunch of great people serving great food.

Awesome and fun. This place is to cute. The Pizza is great. The giant pretzels are good. Skip the salad. Fun differnt pizza flavors. I always have a great meal here!

Best pizza, awesome beer. The pizza is awesome, sometimes service can be a little slow especially on Friday and Saturday night - the pizza is hand tossed and is sooo worth the wait! Their menu has the most inventive names and best combinations on pizza. Try them all and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. They have a nice selection of imported beer and their micro brewed beer is a must try. Be careful when ordering take-out...double check your order, they've screwed mine up a few times.

Best Pizza/Best Beer!!!. Since we moved here a year ago we've had a hard time finding good pizza & good beer, but the Mellow Mushroom has both. The pizza crust is hand tossed, made with spring water & sprinkled with parmesan cheese, and the beer ranges from local micro brew to national craft brews, both on tap & bottled. And, don't forget the atmosphere. The 'Shroom does a great job at picking the most eclectic, personable staff around-they really know their pizza & beer. Don't miss Andy with the mowhawk-the best waiter/beer guy ever!
