Great food, the rest needs a little work.
I keep trying this restaurant as the food really is great, I love the ambiance, and I keep expecting the service to get better, especially considering the owner is one of the guys who originally started Houston's Restaurant with its legendary commitment to service and food quality. The beef tenderloin flatbread is amazing, the lemonade is perfection, and the roasted chicked is wonderfully moist and seasoned. I've never ordered anything that wasn't good, but it has taken me over 35 minutes to actually get my food on more than one occasion. I've also had to wait 10+ minutes to get a drink refill or more ketchup, etc., even when the restaurant isn't that busy. In general, the waitstaff seems under-trained, and not very knowledgeable about the menu. On one occasion, I ordered a certain dessert, the creme brulee (which is divine), but my server brought me a different dessert saying this one was much better. After questioning him several times, I found out that they had actually run out of creme brulee (which was fine, that happens), but rather than asking me if I wanted something different, they just brought me a different (and more expensive)dessert, and then CHARGED me for it! Additionally the hostess staff does not go with the cool, collected ambiance as they generally seem confused, flustered and in a state of constant anxiety.
In short, I would expect more in terms of service from a Joe Ledbetter restaurant, especially when I can get just as good of food that is a little less expensive with outstanding service just a little down the road at at least one other American restaurant on West End. Hopefully the kinks will get worked out as the new General Manager takes over.
BrickTop's. Excellent cheesburger, cooked just as ordered. The deviled eggs for an appetizer were delicious. My wife had the Reuben sandwich, the special of the day along with sauteed spinach. The Reuben was good (and big!). The spinach was fresh, but a little salty. The salads that we watched being brought out were huge and looked delicious. The dining room was nicely decorated for Christmas. Would definitely go back to try more.
Just great!. I haven't had a bad experience here yet. It can be very busy sometimes, which I think is a sign when people are willing to wait for this goodness, but the bar is friendly and a great way to pass the wait. I've heard people complain about the pace, well, I say to them if you want fast food then go to McDonald's. This is a place to enjoy your evening as well as your food. The servers are very friendly, interactive, and knowledgeable and more than happy to suggest some great menu items. I would recommend everything I've eaten there and that's a long list.
more like worst on west end blah. lazy service, 2 much for food ugly decorations slow service and ugly waiters/waitresses i will never i mean ever come back
I give Bricktop's a 10!!!!!. Bricktop's is hands down one of the best restuarants in Nashville! Always prompt seating, wonderful service, and amazing food! The Fresh fish is delicious and by far the best cheeseburger and french fries in town!
Best On West End!. My wife and I eat at Brick Top's regularly. We only eat at the bar and really like the staff in the evenings (weekends): "Q", Darren, Jonathan, and I'm sure I'm leaving someone out, but you get the idea. Food and service are always excellent. We eat out more than we should, but I can tell you, this place is hard to beat! Thanks.
a great bar & restaurant.
Although I don't live in Nashville, I am definitely a frequent visitor. I work part-time at Vanderbilt and travel often between different cities, finding myself in Nashville on most weekends. I've had the pleasure of spending the last few Saturday afternoons sitting at the Bricktops bar and must admit, this restaurant is my new favorite. When I arrived in Nashville yesterday afternoon, I had no trouble deciding where to go for my late lunch. I walked into Bricktops and saw the friendly bartender I have become friends with, ( I won't say her name due to respecting her privacy) and she immediately remembered my name, my drink and proceeded to ask me if I had been traveling that morning. Everything about the experience was exceptional...I tried a new heirloom tomato salad..it was incredible. The afternoon was great, except for a brief interruption by a young, angry manager who interrupted my conversation with the 'friendly bartender' and the 'couple' sitting next to me. I don't know what he was so angry about but I must admit, it seemed extremely out of place and disrespectful. But other than that, my experience here was just as pleasant and impressive as before. I highly recommend Bricktops to anyone and look forward to the new branch in Atlanta.
Thanks for your restaurant!
HORRIBLE FOOD HORRIBLE SERVICE.
WILL NEVER BE BACK THE STAFF IS AS RUDE AS YOU CAN IMAGINE.
THE FOOD IS OVERPRICED AND IS NOT AS GOOD
THERE ARE BETTER WAY BETTER PLACES THAN BRICKFLOPS
very good. we went there for my birthday a few weeks ago and i truely enjoyed it. started off with the grilled artichoke appitizer.....loved the seasoning and dipping sauce. i had the salmon flatbread as an entree and it was fantastic. my fiance had the ahi tuna salad which he also enjoyed very much. his mother had a shrimp and grits dish but she was slightly dissapointed. they had changed the sauce and she said the old one was much better. i also enjoyed the cranberry cider martini i ordered. the best part is the fact that they rim the glass with cinnamon and sugar.....YUM. service was very good too. overall i would recommend!
Pretty Mediocre. I'm new to Nashville and this restaurant was suggested by a friend. The atmosphere is cute, although I'm not really sure about the monkeys on everything...is there a reason or is it just "sweet appeal"? Anyway, I ordered a Caesar Salad, and I must say, it was pretty disappointing. The presentation was so unimpressive, it was as if they threw some lettuce, cheese, croutons and dressing into a bowl and brought it out to the table. I know that's all that's in a Caesar, but it was just so boring, I had no desire to eat it. My friend however, had a sandwich, and he said it was pretty good. I may try this place again, but with all the other restaurants around, I'm not sure.
