Strawberrys Bar

Best Basic Bar in Town. This place is really a wonderful, friendly place. The drinks are generally well poured and I have never had a problem getting served. The bartender that I expect the other reviewer mentioned is not rude or mean, but what I believe could best be described as "Old Fashioned Sassy". Don't be a jerk customer and order something ridiculously complicated when the bar is slammed and every bartender will be nicer to you. Only the truth. Great musical talent on weekdays and weekends but to loud on most weekends with bands that you CAN NOT enjoy the atmosphere. I have been to most bars in Abilene but the attitude and service from one bartender in Strawberrys runs most customers off. Though this one has family ties to the place when she is serving most customers are leaving.

Expect long wait for drinks if you are a DD driver and if you don't tip for every drink.

Wouldn't consider it much of a bikers bar. Most people would like to be served with a smile instead of a growl.…

That is a little harsh. It is harsh to say Strawberrys is all bad. It is usually quite pleasent. Why would you go and/or stay if you didnt like the music there. There are flyers on the doors that tell you who is playing. They actually have a variety of music so the atmosphere changes.

I do agree that some of the bartenders are not friendly but they make good drinks.

I have never been to a bar where the bartenders are all friendly and the Firehouse certanly would not be one. Showing more flesh does not make a good bartender. Although I do like the Firehouse as well.

All of this to say yes the music is loud at Strawberrys but that is the nature of a live band. You just need to go and check it out for yourself…
