This used to be a great place for seafood; Over the past few years the quality of the food and the service have fallen significantly. On the last visit (this afternoon), I’m not sure whether it was the fish or the oil, but something was moderately rancid. The waiter (when he appeared at all, which was pretty rare) was unconcerned and totally useless. At this point, one is better served going a few miles down Dixie Highway to the Golden Coral. The fish is actually better there, there’s much more selection and the prices are much more reasonable. Mike Linnig’s was great in its time, but that time is, unfortunately, passed. RIP, and have the good sense to close the place before you actually poison someone with whatever rancid ingredients you are using.

Overpriced Long John Silvers, charged for refills, something I have never seen at a reputable restaurant. Not a terrible place, just know before you go that it is not a good seafood restaurant just a lot of grease.

Dirty, overpriced, and terrible food. My local hosts had heard about the place were excited about taking me during my recent visit . Unfortunately, we were all very disappointed. The boiled shrimp appetizer was OK, but it went down hill from there. The large combo platter was an assortment of cold french fries, several unidentifiable pieces of fish, two paper plates for the 3 of us, a couple of servings of warm cocktail sauce, a dozen forks, 25 packets of ketchup, and napkins. A request for tartar sauce produced warm little tubs with something tasting like rancid mayo. 90% of our order went right into the overflowing trash can. The beer was cold and made us wish we gone to a bar-b-q joint.

Hasn't been any good in so many years, I've given up. When I was a little girl this was a wonderful reliable place to go. My grandparents were friends of the original owners, and back then our whole family went at least once or twice a month during the open season. Now, what a waste, the prices were outrageous, the atmosphere is like they forgot what a broom is for, and the food is cold fried products, which basically folks, cold fried fish sucks. So does this restaurant. Seems like some things DON't get better with time.

Bad experience. I ordered the shrimp , potatoe, hushpuppies, and a Dr Pepper and the bill was $21 and when I received my food it was awful. The shrimp was tough and the hushpuppies were the worst I have ever had. Besides tasting awful they came in a dish that litterally had 1/4 inch of cooking oil in the bottom of it. After paying $1.74 for my soda I was told refills were $1.00 each (this is the only restaurant I have been to in 15 years that charges for refills). It was the worst seafood I have had in a long time and the prices were not good (had the food been good the price might have been acceptable)

not what it used to be. This restaurant used to be the best seafood restaurant this side of the Peco's. The greed of the family run business has depleted its atmosphere and character in my opinion. A perfect example is they raise their prices twice a year, no matter what. The food quality is not near as good as it used to be and no free drink refills just proves my point.

Best Fish Sandwich. Mike Linnigs has the best fish sandwich I have ever had...at least in Kentucky. Their portions are huge, I can never eat it all. Prices aren't bad either. Plus, the people working there are very nice. The atmosphere is really almost like a street fair...it's hard to explain. Bottom line...the food is great. You won't be disappointed.

It does not get any better than this. The Best Fish and Onion Rings in the World. Who needs a Boat.. I started eating at Mike Linnig's at the young age of five. Now at Fifty Five,

It's as good as it ever was. I was raised on this place.

If this place was a lady, I'd stay married forever.

Editorial Review. Next to the Ohio River, a casual crowd jams the picnic grove at this seafood restaurant when the weather's fine.
