We have lived in West Linn for 18 years and the restaurant now known as Linn City Pub is the last in a long line of changing owners. We feel this is the most successful venue of them all. Previous occupants had a more eclectic menu but priced themselves out of the market. Linn City is what you imagine when you hear the word "pub." It is noisy and friendly with good-natured patrons and staff. You see many families, often with kids in their sports uniforms. The draft brews are great and the food is consistently good. Among our favorites are the Halibut Sandwich, all the Burgers, the Steak and Bleu Cheese Salad and the Barbecue Sandwich. The fries are crispy and tasty and the cole slaw is a great blend. For the price, you just can't go wrong. We feel like we now have an entity that will last for a long time in West Linn.

Located right off Hwy 43 and about one mile from 205, this was my first time here and I thought there were some positives and negatives. Starting out with the plusses, the food and service were excellent. I ordered the B&B burger (blue cheese and bacon) and it was a mouth watering tasty burger. The size of that thing was huge! It was reasonably priced at $6.99 and it came with fries. For a dollar extra I ordered a small side salad in lieu of fries. The owner and the waitress came to our table at separate times and they were both really friendly. And our waitress was great at keeping our soda and water glasses full at all times and overall paying a lot of attention to us. The negatives: the owner said they are known for their fish and chips, but it costs a whopping $12.99. Another thing is the name of the place. Ok, I realize that Linn City used to be the original name of West Linn but the name might give other people the idea that since West Linn and Oregon City are so close in proximity that the pub name is combination of these two cities. Since those towns are huge rivals in sports (and most likely other things), to call it Linn City Pub probably might not make West Linn’ers too happy, especially the people that don’t know the history of their town. And I’d bet the people from Oregon City smile a lot when they eat at or drive by the Linn City. When you walk in it’s an awkward layout. Entering, you can clearly see the bar, and on the perimeter of the interior are booths, while right in the middle are tables. It’s like walking into a great room of a house. It would seem they need some separation between the bar, booths, and seating in the middle. I’d patronage Linn City Pub again but only if I’m in the area as I live in Tualatin. I wouldn’t make a special trip to come back.

Pros: Service and Food

Cons: Ambience, Name of the Restaurant
