a good bar. this is a good bar maybe Jason was rude and the people behind him may have had a good personality
Miserable Dinning Experience. I was looking forward to what was supposed to be one of the best burgers in Louisville. Instead I got 40 minutes in the lunch twilight zone. 40 minutes for a cheeseburger and when we left it still wasn't ready. The people who came in after us got there food before we did. The guys beside us said they had been there a long time. I can appreciate the need for preperation of quality food, but a cheeseburger is a cheeseburger 40 minutes plus is insane. Plus, the waitress was very rude towards us as we were leaving. Never going back, and I would recommend that if you want a cheeseburger look somewhere else.
great bar. a helluva bar, excellent food, great prices. i think like domestic bottles are around 2$. it's uaually younger crowd, usually ppl in their 20s, a lotta UofL students go there. i've always had a great time there and would definitely recommend checkin' this one out.
Neighborhood "Cheers". This is an excellent little "Cheers" of Louisville that I found 2 years ago where the people really do know your name. I drive from the East End of town to this historic neighborhood to feel at home. Excellent food and children friendli in the day hours and very eclectic. I wouldnt call this a "run down bar" from the review. The food is excellent and purchased fresh. Nothing frozen when it comes burgers, onion rings or pizza's at a great price. Check it out!
An Old Louisville Tradition. The granville Inn is thriving, even when the city has been sold out to the characterless chains downtown. I love this bar. A true neighborhood joint serving ice cold beer and great food, all at very reasonable prices. Loyal regulars prop up the bar every day, a true sign of a quality establishment. Catering both to college kids and old timers alike everyone is made welcome. I believe in supporting our local businesses; it is what makes Louisville stand apart. As a loyal patron of The Granville(11years!)I highly recommend this bar.
A quintessentially run-down neighborhood bar perfect for sippin' bourbon and shootin' some stick..
The Scene
Seasoned bourbon and beer drinkers alike have an affinity for the Granville, an area institution since 1939. Legend has it the place was a grocery store in a former life. Scarred, battered and unapologetically basic, the bar offers an ashtray on every Formica table. Two TVs suspended by chains above the bar are turned to nonstop sports, as well as a big screen on the other side of the room.
The Booze
Heavyweights sip Kentucky's famous Maker's Mark bourbon while others slug back bottles of Budweiser or juggle pitchers of cold brew around a few games of pool or pinball.
While You're There
The burgers are renowned--half-pound mounds of meat are grilled and served with a side of crispy onion rings. Try the Tijuana burger, sealed with melting pepper cheese and sliced jalapenos.
Great Place. Cheap Drink and food. You get what you pay for. No frills, just a good neighborhood bar and grille!
My Living Room. The Granville Inn is my absolute favorite place in Louisville. Everytime I walk throught the door I am greeted by wonderful people who make me feel like I'm at home. I consider the "GI" my own personal living room. Even though I no longer live in Louisville, I recommend the Granville to everyone I meet. It has all of the ingredients of the perfect hangout: sports on TV, delicious food, affordable drinks, and nice people. In my opinion, a trip to Louisville without a stop by the Granville Inn is a crime.
