High expectations. I'm originally from L.A., when i started to ask about record shops everyone mentioned ear x-tacy with such gusto that I expected to find music store mecca. Once I arrived I was somewhat let down, everyone I had spoken to stated that the store had a "huge" selection. If you're into rock, country, or rap/hip-hop you have a great selection, but as for anything outside of those labels there was much left to be desired, especially in their vinyl department. Despite the lack of variety the staff was very helpful, the store was well organized, and special orders were offered to be made for me, so I can't complain too much. If you have been to Amoeba Records in Hollywood or Berkley than you know what record store mecca is. I guess in that sense I'm just a little spoiled.
