Love Homemade. Love this establishment, everything I have tasted is a delight and taste homemade. I will continue to give them my business. Homemade has branched out to Clarksville, IN and yes that location is splendid also.
Best Customer Service in town!!!.
I frequent the new location on Bardstown Rd. near KFC, and every time I am fortunate enough to experience not only good old fashioned pie and ice cream, but also old fashioned, honest-to-goodness genuinely good customer service. It seems as if one girl in particular, Heather, is always there. She beams a huge smile at every customer she greets. She seems as if she is honestly excited that you have dropped in. Even when extremely busy, I've never seen her frustrated, angry or disrespectful.
If this is the type of service that Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen teaches their employees, then they have a really good philosophy going. Keep up the good work!
Very expensive, confusing pricing and rude employee.. I don't recommend the Clarksville location. We wanted sundae's and were surprised to learn that it's really just two scoops of ice cream and whipped cream. If you want hot fudge you have to pay $1 extra making it $5.23. We thought that pretty expensive and ridiculous b/c an entire banana split is thirty cents cheaper than that. The employee waiting on us was rude and couldn't be bothered to explain anything. We won't be returning.
Yum yum yum. There are now two locations of this local dessert place. Everything I've ever had there is absolutely incredible and the store and nice and clean with an old-timey general store type decor. The most popular items are the dutch apple pie with a thick layer of caramel icing on top and the caramel cake. It is a bit pricey, especially if you order a whole cake or pie but the quality is excellent.
Heaven on a plate!. This place has by far, the BEST cakes and pies in Louisville. My husband is from Wyoming, and had never had anything from there. We got a Caramel Dutch Apple Pie, and it was the most wonderful thing I had ever tasted, and I don't normally like apple pie. If they shipped pies, I would send a couple to the in-laws for Christmas. If you have a chance, go! Everything is very reasonably priced.
Have your cake and eat some pie and ice cream, too at this sweet tooth's paradise..
The Scene
Children with parents or grandparents dominate this quaint shop. The cheery space is set in a nondescript shopping center, cluttered with knickknacks and a glass case filled with frosted layer cakes, latticed berry pies and mounds of meringues. You'll feel like a kid in a sugar factory.
The Food
Like Disney World, don't try to do The Pie Kitchen in a day. It would take months of diligently indulgent visits to order everything on the expansive, always-evolving menu. Dozens of heavenly hand-dipped ice creams and yogurts are made on the premises. Candy bar bits blended with vanilla ice cream make the dreamy Milky Way flavor one of the best. Flaky pies range from peach and red-raspberry cream to sweet potato and lemon chess. Fresh cakes with homemade icing, petit fours, brownies and eclairs round out the temptations.
Yummy Yummy!. I went there all the time when I was pregnant! My favorite flavor is mint-chocolate chip! (You should also really try their homemade banana pudding!)
the best in the city. oreo cheesecake is a top choice... you cant beat the atmosphere on a summer day. one of the best things that louisville has to offer
Not just Ice cream. This place has the best ice cream around, and is also a great value. Thier homemade flavors are delectible and very flavorful. They also serve great homemade chocolate pies along with many other pie and cake varieties. If you ever pass through Louisville find this place.
Perfect. It tastes just like Grandma used to grind by hand out in the backyard!
