I didnt buy my dress here. The staff was very rude and stuck up. They acted like they didnt have time to help me because they closed @ 6pm. I was needing help @ 3pm. Bad customer service. I bought my beautiful dress elsewhere!
RUDE STAFF!. The women obviously work on commission because when i did not buy the first dress i tried on the woman left and did not return!! I later saw her (when i went to pull my own dresses) helping another bride-to-be. We ended up leaving very frustrated. I decided to give it one more shot and ended up having an okay experience the next time. I was very unimpressed when i went to pick up my dress and the woman handed me it in a clear plastic bag (how cheap!). Alterations weren't any better...she poked her finger and got blood on my dress, then we waited for over 20mins to get someone to "check us out" at the register to pay for the work upfront !
Do not Buy Your Dress Here!!!. While I did find the perfect dress at a decent price, I didn't realize the staff would only be helpful the 1st time you were there. After that, it seems they just want you to hurry and pick your dress. And then, after spending $2000 on my dress, all 4 bridesmaids dresses and my flower girl dress, when my dress came in from being ordered, I was told I had to take my dress home in a clear plastic bag but they'd be happy to sell me a zip up garment bag for $10!!! Really?! Shouldn't that be a customer service to the women that shop and spend as much money as they do in this store? And today I went for a fitting and was told they couldn't do what they needed to do b/c my waist size and chest size don't come in the same dress. I was told to get "this" size when now the alterations lady says I need "this" size. Ok, fine, but when they handed me a nasty, dirty dress that every women in the city has tried on, and said I could trade in for that one. I about died! No sir I will not trade in a BRAND NEW dress for a used one that she point blank said would just be spot cleaned. One of my bridesmaids was there for the same thing and when we walked out to the counter, she was asked to pay for the alterations up front. Since when do you pay for a service before the work is done???? They did however, order me a new dress but I will not be taking it there for the alterations. They need a real lesson in customer service and just b/c they decide to have those big $99 sales, doesn't mean they can nickel and dime you with everything else. Not too mention, the girls at the front desk aren't all that friendly. If you don't like your job, get a new one!
Wedding dress hunting ground for real-world brides on a budget. Princesses need not apply..
In Short
A chic, sleek boutique, it's not. But those willing to look carefully will likely find a big-time bargain. The staff is helpful and knows the merchandise but doesn't provide extensive one-on-one attention or advice. Stores (particularly on weekends) can be swamped with brides-to-be. David's specializes in beaded satin A-lines and simple lace sheaths that just hit the $500 mark. Most labels are tasteful but of medium-quality: Gloria Vanderbilt, Lady Eleanor, Oleg Cassini and the likes.
