Best eats on Moody Street's restaurant row

Ponzu is the best - I've been eating here since it opened a few years ago, and everyone I've ever talked to who's been loves it! By the second time you go there, you are greeted as an old friend and often given free nibbles to start the meal (either that or the chef wants to fatten my husband and me up). Excellent quality sushi and a wonderful array of creative dishes drawing from Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, Korean and other cuisines.
- Pros: delicious, creative Asian fusion, great chef and crew
Best sushi, service, environment, restaurant in Greater Boston area!

I am writing here because I am a Ponzu faithful. My boyfriend and I began going to Ponzu when it first opened up. Since our first date at Ponzu, we are regulars and try to go as often as possible! From their hot and cold tapas, to the sushi, to the entrees, Ponzu has perfected their menu. I have had nearly every roll on their sushi menu and I have never been disappointed (the spicy tuna roll melts in your mouth). The food is always fresh and flavorful and the presentation is beautiful. I have brought dozens of friends with me to Ponzu and each of them has left just as impressed as I was when I first went there. I have been known to turn down invitations to some of the top-rated Asian-fusion restaurants in Boston in favor of my favorite restaurant in Waltham. Go eat at Ponzu and enjoy!
- Pros: Sushi, Service, Ambiance, Everything!

The food is excellent, but I'll get to that in a minute. First, I want to tell you about the wonderful staff. Not only are they extremely nice, but they genuinely care if you like your meal! Anytime I haven't enjoyed a dish (which is very rare), they have given me a different dish. The wait staff is very attentive.
If you are like me and enjoy a variety of tastes during your meal, you can order small tapas plates to share at the table. If you want one main dish, that's also an option! Some of my specific favorites are: white tiger rolls, spicy tuna rolls in rice paper, curry beef with coconut rice (subtle flavor of coconut), and sashimi roses. The presentation is the nicest I've seen anywhere.
The food is fresh, the chef is an expert at putting together wonderful flavors, and the atmosphere is fun. In fact, the sushi chef often stops by your table just to ask how you are doing. Very nice touch for such a busy person.
- Pros: Fantastic food, very nice staff, a fun night out. If you aren't driving, try the hot sake!
- Cons: Somewhat busy on weekend nights - that's when you want to make a reservation. Parking can be challenging.
