Amazing food and liquor. Amazing place. One of the few places in the land that infuses their own vodka and rum. The drink prices of these liquors is 3 dollars a shot and 5 dollars a cocktail. Not a bad deal! Food is very good as well, service was good, and never had to ask for anything. I recommend this to anyone.
with the non-smoking law in place they state they are non-smoking. however, on a recent visit three patrons sit at the bar with the owner while pufing away. i refrained from complaining because i had already ordered my meal.
i choose to eat elsewhere.
Best place in town. I stumbled into Past Perfect while working close to it. My co-workers recommended it one night on Karaoke night (Sunday nights) and I went in to have a beer while waiting for my ride. I fell in love with the place...the people were friendly (true southern attitudes) and the bartender on shift (Paul) was great. I don't know exactly what made me return, although it may have been the small-town atmosphere in a big-town setting, but return I did. I end up there about 3 nights a week and always see some of the same people who always greet me with a smile and by name. I would recommend it to anyone. Hint: try the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich. My favorite.
Good food, great hours.
My husband and I just ate at Past Perfect. It's a great little spot. It is more expensive than some places, but it's still not exorbitant and the food is wonderful. I had the lasagna and my husband had the tuna wrap an both were quite tasty.
It definitively feels a bit new and could use some local support, as if just left up to the tourists I don't think it would last.
The hours are good as well, as they serve food until 2 and drinks until 3.
There was a sign out front for a $5 lunch special, so we'll likely go back soon.
Don't go here. After being unsuccessful in finding a late night food joint downtown, we finally stumbled upon Past Perfect (don't understand the name at all, Latin grammar anyone? but that's just the beginning). We were open minded and eager to see the offerings. Well, to put it bluntly, the food was so-so, you overpay, the drinks were overpriced as well ($5.00 for a tap beer when Cabana and other places are an average of $4?), and most apparent, the ambiance was off. Don't understand what it's "selling point" is, the decor, or what it is aiming for overall. Weird place, average food, and just not enough to make me go back. Prediction: this place won't last more than another year. They need a serious makeover in more ways than one. And after reading the very first review of this place AFTER we visited, a serious attitude and manner makeover as well.
Absolutely wonderful. Past Perfect is a fantastic bar and restaurant, tucked away on 3rd Ave. (half-block from Broadway). Their food is top-notch, and the kitchen is open 'til 2 am, making it a wonderful place to catch a bite after the bars. Though you could do just as well with your night by keeping it there. The bar is awesome, with a full compliment of boozes and a few draft beers to keep everyone happy. Prices are good, and the service is excellent. Great ambience, with dark woods and colors giving it a jazz-club type atmosphere. I highly recommend Past Perfect.
Solid, if unspectacular. Past Perfect has been an anomily in Nashville for the past year. A Chicago-style, Victorian-era bar that does many things decent but few well. The menu needs some serious help, and while the food is by no means bad, it lacks any signature. Earlier this year I would have recomended ordering off their features menu, but since their Chef left, the food quality has suffered some. The staff is up and down. Some nights attentive and on the spot, other nights it seems to take forever for service of any sort. Monday nights, I recomend staying away. The bartenders are rude, and seem interested in only taking care of their friends. Rick, a manager of some sort (I never was able to find out definitively), has been rude or curt on many occasions. Also, the prices are a bit high for the quality. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid bar, with great ambience and a good (overall) staff. The food service is prompt, even though the menu needs help. It's a bar/restaurant that seems in need of a solid direction, but I'll keep coming back until they get it perfect.
Nice change.. I like this place, the ambiance is totally different than most places downtown, with mostly jazz playing on the speakers, and live music that's not all country. Their food is pretty good, I've been there several times and the lobster pasta is the best I've had so far. Their chicken skewers (I'm not sure what they called them on the menu) were good as well. The menu is a little limited, but it's a nice change from all the honky-tonks surrounding the area.
Nice, cozy spot in the middle of down town. A friend and I tried past perfect last night for our girls night out. After reading some of these reviews I had some trepidations, but my fears were groundless. We walked in at 7 on a Saturday night and were seated promptly. Our server was with us quickly and was very friendly. We split an appetizer and the chicken nathanzolla. The food was great, and we didn't have to ask for an extra plate. We both had the peach martini. It was extremely tasty. There were fresh flowers and candles on all the tables, and the atmosphere was quite romantic. I would have been pleased to have been taken there on a date. I would recommend it to anyone.
Don't Waste Your Time. Too bad. The food was cold and the seafood was spoiled, service was slow even though there were only two couples in the restaurant, and they charge $9 for a glass of house wine. Don't waste your time or money at Past Perfect.
