Delicious and Affordable!.
Best Thai food in town, hands down. Don't miss the Hung Ray curry! We go almost every week and the quality and flavors are amazing. We used to go to Jasmine in Cool Springs and actual prefer this to Jasmine! (Surprising for us since we used to drive from Nashville to get it!)
The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food always comes out quickly. I like how they use all fresh ingredients. The carrots, freshly sliced ginger, and well-cooked broccoli are a nice touch. The duck dishes are divine and great for celebrating special occasions. Don't miss this place!
A REAL SHAME.
I HAD BEEN A REGULAR CUSTOMER OF THIS RESTAURANT SINCE ABOUT 2008. i RECENTLY RETURNED AND ORDERED THE CURRY SEAFOOD. THERE WERE LITERALLY ONLY 4 SMALL SHRIMP, 3 MUSSELS AND 2 SCALLOPS IN THE ENTIRE $20 DISH.
I NOTIFIED THE WAITRESS THAT THIS HAD BEEN UNSATISFACTORY TO ME. SHE WENT BACK TO THE KITCHEN TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER AND THEN RETURNED AND WAS ONLY ALLOWED TO OFFER A $3 DISCOUNT! HAVING BEEN A LONG TIME CUSTOMER I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED MUCH BETTER TREATMENT. ALSO THE CALAMARI WAS COMPRISED MOSTLY OF CRUSTY FLOUR COATING AND ONIONS AND IF THERE WAS ANYTHING INSIDE IT WAS ONLY A TINY SLIVER OF ACTUAL SQUID. THIS WAS ACTUALLY THE FIRST TIME THAT WE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE AT THIS RESTAURANT, BUT IT WAS SO VERY BAD THAT WE DECIDED NO LONGER TO GIVE OUR BUSINESS TO GOLDEN THAI. TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY THE OWNER/MANAGER NEVER EVEN CAME OUT OF THE BACK OF THE RESTAURANT TO TALK TO US EVEN THOUGH THE VERY NICE WAITRESS KNEW US AND TOLD HER THAT WE WERE REGULAR CUSTOMERS. WE THOUGHT IT OVER AND DECIDED THAT WE WOULD NOT LIKELY RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. WE CONSIDERED A $3 DISCOUNT AN INSULT.
overpriced junk. They claim to be real Thai but the food is NOT! I moved from Chicago, but in my work in Airline management I have tried Thai food in all parts of the US and this is nothing to write home about. To top it off it is very overpriced for the low quality of the food. If you like spending mega bucks for sweet and salty food this is your place.
Wow! Some really good Thai in Nashville!.
I had been meaning to try Golden Thai for several months, and finally got around to it today. I shouldn't have waited so long! Being my first time there I stuck with an old favorite: red curry with chicken. Everything was fresh, authentic, and the portions are beyond generous. The bottom line: possibly the best red curry I've tasted outside the West Coast.
Service was prompt and efficient, and prices are very reasonable (more lunch than I could finish for about 8 bucks). This was my first time dining there, but it certainly won't be my last! If you have been looking for good Thai in Nashville, give Golden Thai a try. You won't be disappointed!
Very memorable!!. I'm already ready to go back. I've been in Bangkok and the food here is authentic Thai. Spring rolls are delectable. They serve red and green curry dishes that your tongue won't believe...and I thought I didn't like curry. The servings are very generous and the pricing is not expensive. Ask for the fried bananas with coconut ice cream for desert! Located across from Target on White Bridge.
Nashville's Best Thai.
In a culinary wasteland like Nashville, finding this lovely little restaurant was like a breath of fresh air. Even though it was at least 45 minutes from where I was living in Murfreesboro, when we wanted a great meal, we made the drive to Golden Thai.
I tried several of the curry dishes over the couple of years I lived in the area (2005-2007), and the red curry and massaman curry (both with tofu) were definite favorites. My husband would often order the duck dishes, and always enjoyed them immensely, and dinner for two prices were reasonable, usually between $20-$30 for the two of us, depending on our beverage choices and whether we got an appetizer or not.
Fear not, Nashvillians, your city does have more to it than bad bar food and fatty BBQ.. try Golden Thai.
Well, the food smelled good.
Busy lunch hour with several errands in the neighborhood. It's late, but some tasty Thai food to take back to the office sounds so good. I wait at least 10 minutes to place my order while the hostess converses with two customers paying their bill. Finally my turn to place an order. How long will it take? Only about 10 minutes, she says. Oh, well, I've already invested 10 minutes, I can wait that long. I wait. Now the 10 minutes have long passed. People coming in, going out, ordering, waiting, and here comes a to-go order. Yay, at last. No, not mine, it's for someone who seems to be a long lost friend of the hostess. The chatting goes on. They leave. I ask about the status of my order: "half done," she says. Minutes continue to tick past. Now at least 40 minutes into the process, still no food, and the hostess is making rounds through the dining room, stopping at tables to chat. She ignores my signal. I finally give up and leave.
Service: looks to be OK if you know the hostess
Food: remained unserved
Great lunch spot. This is my new favorite Thai restaurant for a quick lunch! Love the Tom Kha soup, steamed dumplings, and spring rolls!!! We have ordered take out lunch from here a few times and its been great every time.
Great food and great service. We hail from the Pacific N.W. and were not expecting to find great thai food in Nashville. We were definitely wrong! Golden Thai had excellent food and the service to match. The selection of entres was great and all the food tasted very fresh. We will be returning often!
