Hard-to-find culinary jewel provides area gourmands and homesick Scandinavians with a sinful taste of Denmark..
In Short
In the former home of Iggy's bakery resides the aptly-named Danish Pastry House. Started by a Dane and using imported ingredients, the bakery churns out acclaimed cakes, breads and pastries. The cramped, takeout-only bakery offers a wide assortment of free samples. Compared to store-brand breads, the Pastry House's are exceptionally dense and flavorful, and the homemade marzipan satisfies even the strongest sweet tooth. Fresh coffee and homemade soups round out the offerings.

Yummy food and great ambience right near Tufts.
The sandwiches, pastry, coffee at the Danish Pastry House near Tufts (Boston Ave at Winthrop) are uniformly amazingly tasty. The space has nice small tables to eat; noise level is subdued, so it's easy to chat.
