Great piercing experience.
I got an Industrial piercing from BettyAnn almost 2 weeks ago and love it. She was very friendly and answered all of my questions. I was really nervous when I got there, and the whole staff made me feel at ease. The counter girl (can't remember her name) was so nice and very knowledgeable too. My whole experience was great. My piercing looks amazing, perfect placement, and has healed just fine.
As for the shop, it was extremely clean and in a great location. I'm already planning on going back for another piercing and I'm hoping to get my first tattoo there. Can't wait to go back!
I agree.......................not like they were years ago !. I also got a piercing, nose,it never healed and left a big bump that looks bad,you have lost my business and i will spred the word...............stay away, lone wolf is better and cheaper !!
SO many issues.
I got my Industrial done here by Rachel in 2010. She pierced it to close to my head so there was too much pressure on it whenever I made a facial expression. I went to another shop (Icon in Murfreesboro) to see if they could do anything about it and they asked me if I'd done it myself because it was so shoddily done.
Then I got my nose pierced here in 2010 by Betty Ann -- she told me that my jewelry was a size 18 gauge instead of a 20. So basically, when I went to go change my jewelry, I thought that my nose was an 18 gauge. So I ended up gauging my nose, which is not something I wanted to do.
After a few months after my first nose piercing, Icon sold me what they called an 18 gauge glass nose retainer. I just went into the store yesterday and asked two 18 gauge glass nose retainers and they told me that they did not carry them and that they only had 20 gauge nose retainers. They assured me that they had NEVER carried them. So basically I got lied to on that sale as well..
Then I got microdermals in my back from here. They messed up the tops of them, making one domed and the other flat. I came back multiple times to ask them if they were sure that they were the correct ones and each time the girl at the counter would look at me pretentiously and assure me that they were. Then, I came back for the 3rd time when Betty Ann was there and she noticed that they weren't and changed one back to flat.
I am never going to this store ever again. I don't know why I've put up with this for so long or wasted so much money on this shop.
Not What I'd Hoped For...More Like a Disaster.. I got a vch piercing done by BettyAnn and had nothing but problems with it. I was expecting her to show me exactly where she was planning to pierce it, but she didn't. It was pierced way too deep and the jewelry was too short. I had to buy longer jewelry because the jewelry she used was irritating me so much. When I e-mailed her asking about it, she didn't seem to care that I was having issues. I experienced a lot of burning, and later grew a bunch of hypergranulation tissue thanks to the huge amount of jewelry sitting under my hood. I visited an amazing piercer at TRX Tattoos & Piercing for advice, and in order to avoid further complications and disappointment, I opted to take it out and plan to get it repierced in the proper location by Stan at TRX soon. Icon was very disappointing.
Best Piercing/Tattoo Place I know of.
Last year I got my nose pierce at Lone Wolf last November, and it got infected and fell out when I was sleeping about 5 weeks later. I understand that this is not the piercers there's fault, but I had an overall better experience with icon this August.
They used custom fit jewelry there, vs Lone Wolf's pre-fit, and I had no problems with the piercing whatsoever. It also was much less painful. I was pierced by Rachel Napier, I believe that's her name?
I have no tattoos but I've heard lots of good reviews and seen awesome artwork on friends so I know that's where I'll be going for my future tattoos/piercings!!!!
VERY RUDE,REALLY BAD WORK,GERMS EVERYWHERE !!!!. IVE HEARD THIS PLACE IS OK,BUT I SAW PEOPLE TOUCHING STUFF WITH DIRTY GLOVES ON THAT SOME GUY HAD JUST TAKEN OUT SOME TRASH THEN HE STARTS A TATTOO WITHOUT CHANGING HIS GLOVES OR WASHING HIS HANDS,THIS PLACE IS A HEALTH HAZARD...........CALL THE HEALTH DEPT. THESE PLACES GET INSPECTED I HOPE..........I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM HERE,I CAME TO THIS PLACE TO GET A BAD TATTOO FIXED BUT AFTER SEEING THIS CROSS CONTAMINATION I LEFT.......STAY AWAY FROM ICON................CON THATS ALMOST FUNNY !!
Only Shop I will go to in the Country!.
I have been going to Icon since they opened. Tattoos and piercings you name it and I've gotten it there. My Artist is Benjamin Ritchie, Piercers; Ian and Bettyann. I have always had incredible experiences there. Nothing but the best work, most sterile environment, Extremely nice and always welcoming. When I've needed Jewelry I buy it there and if they don't have what I need they order it.
Prices are beyond competitive and trust me if you need a touch up, more work or just advice on your piece they ALWAYS take the time to make sure I have what I need. My tattoos are priceless and so if their service. I have another upcoming appointment and if you are looking for the best work......Go to ICON!
The turnover rate at this shop is very high.. I have gotten 2 tattoos at their location near Hillsborough Village. The first was small, but nice by an artist named Will. I went back to get another less than a year later and was told that he was no longer working there so an artist named Shannon, who was also wonderful, took care of me. It was late and we weren't able to finish the design, so she told me to come back in a few weeks. When I came back in to schedule an appointment with her, I was told SHE no longer worked there! I asked if she was still in Nashville and the girl at the front said she didn't know, but that another artist would be available in about an hour and would finish the tattoo at a reduced price. So I went to the coffee shop across the street where I was told that Shannon was just a few miles away at Queen of Hearts on Nolensville. I found her there, she was happy to finish the tattoo and we made an appointment for my "Dad" tattoo on the other side. Thumbs down for the dishonesty, Icon!
kacie doesnt work there anymore. i was getting pierced by kacie up at icon quite a lot and i just found out she doesnt work there anymore, she works at lone wolf.
Don't believe the free touch-up guarantee!!!.
Alright, don't get me wrong. The artists here are some of the best in town. But to me, that is overshadowed by the way they deal with their customers. It's the norm for many tattoo shops to have rules like no appointments made over the phone, no price quotes until they see you, etc. All that is fine, and to be expected. But Icon proudly boasts a "Free Touch-Ups for Life" guarantee. They DO NOT live up to this. I got a small tattoo there last summer. I bleed out a lot, so I expected to be told to come back for touch ups whenever I wanted. I was told, "We guarantee our work here, so you can come back and get it touched up anytime for free." When I called to make the appointment for a touch-up, I was told that my artist no longer works there. I told them that was fine, that I didn't care who did the touch up work. They then informed me that if another artist does it, it will cost me the original price of the tattoo.
This simply is not right. What are you supposed to do if your artist moves, or changes jobs, or dies, etc!? If they are going to advertise a guarantee like that, they need to live up to their promise! They will no longer get my business. I've decided to go to another shop and pay them to redo my tattoo. The new shop is a lot nicer, anyway!
