In Short
With its dark-wood details, celebrity photos and tuxedo-clad waiters, this upscale steakhouse chain has the air of a posh men's club. Service is professional and discreet, with bartenders making a mean martini. Dinners begin with a waiter-driven cart laden with fresh vegetables, live lobster and cuts of steak; customers choose from porterhouse, rib eye, bone-in prime rib and more. Side dishes are traditional and enormous, from baked potatoes and creamed spinach to steamed broccoli with hollandaise.

The staff was great from the minute we walked in the door. The waitress was great and took the time to talk with us eventhough it was New Year's Eve and they were packed. As for the food - the steaks were good, but the mashed potatoes are to die for. If you love crab cakes they are a must have - lots of crab and seasoned to perfection. The New York style cheesecake was decadent and a great finish to a good meal. Will be going back to try the ribeye on a Friday night!! Overall a great meal and worth the money.

We had a great experience here while visiting Chicago from Detroit. The service was prompt, attentive and friendly. Our two kids, 7 and 10, were well looked after. Although they say they don't have a kids menu, they can prepare kid friendly food like chicken cutlets. Our steaks were excellent and perfectly prepared. Many steak restaurants will over cook a medium rare steak, but not Morton's. Dinner is expensive, but what you would expect for such a fine restaurant. Portions are large, so expect to share side dishes like vegetables or potatoes. The wine list is extensive but over-priced, particularly on the lower priced end of the scale. We definitely recommend the souffle for desert. which you need to order at the same time as your entree.
Pros: Steaks well prepared and delicious, atmosphere, attentive friendly service
Cons: Expensive lower end wines on the wine list
