NOT A REGISTERED BUSINESS NO INSURANCE OR HEALTH PERMITS
I have read these reviews and went to one of those party's catered by Purple Fig Catering and decided to do a little investigating. For Starters all the reviews are from unhappy brides and family's. There not wrong and have no recourse. My investigation found this is not a Business registered in the state of Washington. No Health Department Permits,
No UBI Number and worst of all no Liability Insurance. I think she is cooking out of her home. In Washington State this is illegal with out an inspection from the Health department. Be careful who you hire ask for certification and prof of insurance.
Great Catering at a wedding!. I went to a wedding that was catered by Purple Fig and found them to provide some of the best food and service. Lina was a delight as she made sure everyone was served. I would highly recommend her and the Purple Fig.
So disappointed.... We hired Lina for our wedding which was very relaxed so we hoped that the reviews wouldn't apply to our low maintenance affair. She was an hour and a half late, brought half of the food we ordered/ paid for and to top it off she cried once she realized how little food she had brought. The food was not great, for example there was an offensive amount of garlic used and the focaccia sandwiches were made on gross Safeway bread and not on focaccia. To make matters worse, Lina would not respond to our phone calls or emails when we tried to figure out what happened. It was a huge mistake to hire Purple Fig Catering - you should not do the same.
STOP.......Don't have the Purple Fig do your Wedding. Where do I begin, I met with Lina (the owner of the Purple Fig) on numerous occasions to make sure that all was in order for our wedding day......here comes the day, not enough food, her children were at the event until she informed my bride that the vaccum is downstairs, and to be sure to have all of the table cloths placed in a certian spot....hummm, I do not ever recall part of her services being that we clean up on our wedding day.....I had to pay four people to stay and clean up so my bride and I could leave for our honeymoon. Great Building for the ceremony, but Lina and her staff, which consisted of one girl, were not able to do anything...Shame on you for hooking people to believe one thing about your services then when it came down to it........it was all just an opticial illusion!! Sad to say, but if you and your bride are considering going through the Purple Fig for anything, please reconsider.......as you too might be disappointed.
Take Caution!!. Where do I begin... I will begin with a positive note. This catering company makes outstanding food. If you are looking for a meal that you will be completely satisfied with, this is the place to bring your business. That is if you can deal with the owner being late to every meeting, yelling at your family during the wedding reception, or completely not following through with promises. You have to understand where I am coming from before you can get a complete picture. I didn't just utilize the catering services of the Purple Fig, we rented the chapel the company is housed out of. The building is a very old, quaint little chapel and will work for weddings no larger than 50 people. The purple fig is very well priced so I didn't go into this deal with high expectations. But when the owner and head chef yells at my guests I draw the line. When the owner and head chef is rude to my bride when she asks to move a table just because she will have to rearrange the table configuration, I draw the line. I do have good things to say about this company, the food was outstanding and they are very well priced. But take EXTREME CAUTION in trusting your wedding day to this company in any aspect other than food.
VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!.
My husband and I have just had our Chinese tea ceremony at our backyard, had Purple Fig to cater for the food. Unfortunately due to their too many commitments on the same day, our service was really bad.
We called to inform that 2 of the chairs we rented through them were broken. We were told that they will bring extra to exchange them as we had paid for the rental. It did not come.
We requested and were told that the food will be arriving at 2.30pm on the day but it did not come till 3.30pm and by then, my tea ceremony was long way over and some of the guests had to leave early too. That was so embarrassing!
Prior to 3pm, we had tried to call Lina 8 times on both the office and mobile phone to ask when the food will be arriving; she did not pick up let alone return any one of the 8 calls. Finally, the food arrived..... COLD!!! There weren't enough vegetables for a serving.
We will not use or recommend this place to anyone we know as I feel that they do not know how to prioritize their businesses.
My wedding with the purple Fig Catering. Our caterers paid attention to every detail of our wedding. Our the food presentation was awsome and they even went the extra mile to make sure all of our guest received the extra attention. The chicken was moist and the veggies were crisp the food was fabulous. Lina was on top of all the details. I would highly reccomand them to anyone who is getting married.
Worst Caterer. My wedding was nearly ruined by purple fig. They were an hour late, making the entire wedding late. They did not deliver the items that were agreed on, in a contract. The grooms mother and mine spent most of their time argueing with Lina and her poorly trained "staff", who were acctually her daughter and some friends that really knew nothing about catering. There were some food saftey violations and I doubt they even have food handle permits. When told things they were doing wrong they were defensive and rude, they were also rude toward my guests and wedding party. They hardly set up, (my maid of honor and bridesmaid did most of that for them) and did a poor job of cleaning up. Please do not select them for your event, it will end up disasterouse.
