In Short – Where Ventura's urban din softens into lavender meadows and citrus groves, the Ojai Valley begins. Comprised of a handful of unincorporated towns, the area is known for its healthy lifestyles, Spanish architecture and thriving arts center. A nine-mile mountain trail past oaks and waterfalls encourages hiking and horseback riding; shoppers stop in used bookstores, galleries and coffeehouses around downtown's arched retail arcade and Libbey Park. Annual events include tennis tournaments, outdoor concerts, and Shakespeare, Harvest and Mariachi festivals. – –
