While this company may look professional on the outside with its flashy carriages and well groomed horses, it is actually quite the opposite. I had planned on making a reservation with this company
to tour downtown Fort Wayne until a friend of mine who had scheduled a ride a couple weeks ago showed up for his ride and Rosewood was now where to be found. He spoke with the owner on the phone and she was very rude and unprofessional on the phone. Luckily there was another carriage company there to take him on his ride.
I own and operate my own draft horse farm so I am very familiar with not only what it takes to care for a horse but also what it takes to run a business. When I showed up for my ride with one of the other companies I was shocked when I saw two of Rosewoods carriages unattended. The drivers and owner were standing in the middle of the parking lot! Even if a horse is well trained you should NEVER leave it standing at a public establishment alone. If the horse were to get frightened and take off there would be a possibility that many people would get hurt. I can't believe they would do that especially when there are little kids running up to the horses and hanging around their hooves and sticking their hands near their mouth. No matter how well trained the horse is it is still able to bite or step on anyone.
One other thing that is a flaw with this company is the overall attitude of their drivers. It is bad enough that the owner is rude, but now the drivers themselves seemed stuck up. Part of working with the public is being friendly and putting the customers first. I mentioned earlier that I rode with a different company. My driver was a young woman who was very outgoing and could light up a room with her smile. She answered any questions I had for her and made sure I had everything I needed. She was also very knowledgeable about horses which I feel is very important. I highly recommend riding with this young lady if you get a chance. I cannot remember her name however one way to find her is by asking for the girl who works on the exotic animal farm. I had a great experience with the other company and if you want to have a great overall experience as well I do not suggest using Rosewood. Hope this review helps.…
Rosewood Carriage destroys 10th Anniversary. Rosewood Carriage refused to show up. The appointment was scheduled on February 25, 2008. My husband and I showed up at Takeoka at 8pm. Where was the carriage? No where to be found. Called owner who lied to us by stating that there was never an appointment scheduled. She was very very very rude. She lied about being called on her cell number when all that we had ever called was her home number. She accused my husband of threatening her when he was trying to calm her down. I would not reccommend Rosewood Carriage for anyone, especially if it is for something special like our 10 year anniversary. I was told that they would put an anniversary sign on the carriage and that they would give me a gift. I WOULD NEVER CALL THEM IF I WERE YOU!!!!!!!!!…
