Family-run and locally focused, this Healdsburg spot introduces Nor Cal bounty to artful, culinary embellishment. A country/funky vibe pervades the lofty, modern art-studded dining room, while the al fresco garden patio is decidedly more elegant. Seasonal menu items all pay homage to their farmer, fishmonger, or small-batch purveyor. Some locally sourced highlights include goat cheese croquettes with organic lavender honey, crispy Sonoma lamb cheeks, or a fricassee of Bellweather Farms ricotta gnocchi. The eco-conscience runs full circle: kitchen scraps go to chickens who produce the…

Incompetent bartender

by coog78 at Citysearch

How anyone can be a bartender in the US and not know how to properly make a mojito is beyond me. I have travelled all over the world and never seen the type of incompetence and lack of personablity that exists at this dump pretending to be trendy. I would expect to find this type of ignorance and horrific service in LA or Dallas, but not a little tourist trap town such as Healdsburg. The waitstaff and hostess were adequate and food edible, but the attitude and stupidity of the bartender are inexcusable. I will tell everyone I know to avoid this tragedy.

Very nice atmosphere with wonderful food and a trendy feel.

by molly2739 at Citysearch

Barndiva is the quintessential Sonoma County restaurant; it has gorgeous outdoor seating, stylish indoor seating, and food for both to make your mouth water. We sat outside, and the atmosphere was perfect for a lunch in the wine country. We sat in the sun, shaded by an umbrella, eating our pleasantly tasty appetizers and delicious entrees amidst the cool breeze. The wait staff was diligent and helpful, even sharing a few entertaining anecdotes. Barndiva was trendy and serene, you will leave feeing satisfied and renewed.

? Recommendation: Crispy duck salad, steak frites, and the dark and light chocolate slice.

  • Pros: Great area, good service, loved the menu.
  • Cons: Slightly expensive, but worth it.

Non-responsive, aloof, arrogant

by jed_setter at Citysearch

OK, so Healdsburg is becoming very high end and Barndiva has clearly done wonders in creating a sophisticated place which is very hip. That's where it ends. I tried several times to book an event here and could not get the owner or manager to commit or even return calls. It was humourous to visit this page and realize how consistent this experience has been with others who have been there. Originally I thought this would have been the "ideal" place for our party. Now I realize that it might have been a nightmare, so I'm greatful to others for posting these reviews. Life it too short to deal with people like this.

  • Cons: Rude, arrogant, aloof management
