Best pastries in the Midwest. WheatFields is often praised for its Artisan breads, but I go there every time I'm in Lawrence for the pastries and desserts. All is made from scratch. My favorites: apricot scone, rum raisin danish, napoleon, coconut macaroon, and a chocolate mousse to die for. If you have a sweet tooth and a love of classic pastry (made with real butter), stop in for a treat
