Not all it's cracked up to be.
Sushi-ya came recommended by a friend. Either this friend had little taste or had never been to another sushi place. The price was about on par, but considering how they skimped on the fish, it was more than I want to pay. The waitress was friendly enough, but definitely didn't make up for the mediocre sushi. The atmosphere was pleasant, and it's on an adorable street! But as for the sushi, I think you could do better from a supermarket.
If you want good sushi, try Kotobuki or Tai Show!

Declining customer service.
After going to Sushi Ya for 3 years, I have noticed a decline in the customer service and in the quality of food. The food was not up to par the last 3 times we went there, they mess up our take-out orders almost every time and they are very cheap with the side dressings. The times we have spoken to the owners in regards to these matters, all they do is offer us a drink! That doesn't rectify the situation. How about treating your customers - especially your regular customers - with some respect and offer them a meal that satisfies them. And don't be so cheap with the dressing. The owners of Sushi Ya need to work on their customer service skills if they want customers to keep coming back. I'm very disappointed, they use to be great.

YUM LIKED THIS PLACE A LOT.
OKAY A LIL PRICEY BUT WAS VERY PLEASANTLY TREATED BY THE STAFF AND THE FOOD WAS VERY FRESH. BEEN BACK THERE A FEW TIMES AND EACH TIME IS AS GOOD AS THE LAST.
HIBACHI GRILL IS NO BIGGIE BUT THE SUSHI THERE WAS EXCELLENT. NICE APPETIZER DISHES ALSO
DIDNT LIKE SITTING OUTSIDE IN THE BACK AS KEPT SEEING THE COOKS SMOKING THEN GOING BACK IN... MAKES ME WONDER IF THEY WASH THERE HANDS.... I HOPE SO... REGARDLESS... FOOD WAS EXCELLENT... WISH COULD AFFORD IT MORE OFTEN

Great food - annoying and greedy staff.
The food here is amazing, if you sit at the sushi bar you will get the best of the best. Ask for the Uni!
The staff though is constantly on top of you, getting into your personal conversations, and bothering you. The owners child has even run around playing with toys in the middle of a busy dinner service.
