Burn Me Twice, Shame on Me. If once wasn't enough, the second time confirmed all suspicions. Plain and simple, the food is poor. I've had better burritos from Kroger's freezer than here. And at a cost of 5-8 times that of my frozen comparison, why would I return. The establishment offers a variety of salsas with varying flavors and heat, but it is a failed attempt to bring some sense of life to the product. I taste nothing fresh about it and will not consider making a third visit.
O.K.. Being from Texas and raised on truly authentic Mexican/TexMex cuisine, I was really unimpressed with Baja. It was very fresh, though. My husband really likes it there. The food is prepared well and quickly, and the prices are very good. However, I found it rather bland. Kind of a loud atmosphere, too, but good for kids. All in all, it was O.K.
Charbroiled meats and fresh salsas add authentic spice to this Mexicali fast-food chain..
In Short
High tables and a busy open kitchen welcome diners into the spacious, brightly lit black-and-white interior. Just minutes after cashiers take customer orders, fresh-made tacos, burritos and enchiladas (stuffed with steak, chicken or seafood) arrive on the nearby counter. The menu also offers several plates of greens, from typical taco salad to fancier bowls with shrimp or mahi mahi. A stainless-steel bar offers several salsas, plus jalapenos, limes and cilantro for seasoning.
Great Food Great Value. Fast, clean, great food at a great value - this is a great value. The food is consistently fresh & well-prepared.
