Worst Brazilian bikini wax EVER!!! Do not go here!! The girl Erin did a horrible job, leaving me patchy, very hairy, red, swollen and full of wax. I would have never imagined someone could do this poor of job. I do NOT recommend this place at all!!
Wonderful-relaxing spa – I have gone to Venus for nearly 5 years now. I have never had a bad experience. The girls are GREAT! I have taken my mother and grandmother there for mothers day. They were great--since they usually only do couples in the same room. They put all 3 of us in the same room so we would all be together (this was my grams first spa experience--she is now 83). They did my bach. party--which was great! They also worked me in 2 days before my wedding for a friend that flew in from FL and myself--this was the only time we could use to "catch up". They did my makeup for my wedding--along with my bridesmaids. Wonderful work! The makeup even lasted through cake all over my face! :)
They have always ensured my comfort in their spa. It just keeps getting better since they have expanded.
I highly recommend this spa!!!!
Would never recommend this spa – I would NEVER recommend this spa to anyone, it is the worst I've ever been to. The volume of the music during the massage was so loud that you could not relax, yet it didn't help block out the conversations from the reception desk since the walls are paper thin. No matter what treatment room you were in you could hear the conversation in the next room. This spa was suggested by a co-worker who told me they could do a bachelorette party...don't be fooled they do not have the organization or social skills to accommodate such an event. It was embarrassing to take a group to this establishment...none of us will ever return.
We'd like to explain – I'd like to comment on "luvcat's" review of Venus Day Spa and to clarify a few of her concerns.
Generally, the temperature of the heated indoor whirlpool remains at approximately 98 / 99 degrees to avoid the possibility of a client having an adverse reaction to a high water temp; elderly clients, those with hypertension or other conditions that would contraindicate use of a 100-degree-and-up whirlpool, or the client scheduled immediately after this user. The heated whirlpool is meant for relaxation and underwater massage; it is *not* meant to be used as a hot tub/sauna, and is *not* advertised as such. In the 4 years that Venus has been in business, maintaining a constant temp. of approximately 98 degrees has proven to be an ideal setting that is complimentary to all guests. Safety of the client is most important---Therefore, using the whirlpool privately at this controlled temperature allows for peace of mind of the staff and ensures that the client will be completely comfortable and not overheated. The health and well-being of a client is more important than the temperature setting of any heated whirlpool. People have a hard time understanding this.
As far as the pressure of the massage, could it be that this user's husband purchased a *Swedish* Massage and not a *Deep Tissue* massage for her? If a Swedish massage is what this client was to receive, then she received just that. Massage therapists (at any professional or private establishment) certainly know the difference between the two massages and that there is definitely a noticeable difference between each of them.
If this customer were to call Venus directly and not post on a public forum, she would have received a complimentary massage service with another therapist, or else another service of her choice. While feedback is greatly appreciated, good *or* bad, it is impossible to ensure satisfaction to a client that chooses to hide behind her computer.
Have a wonderful day! A. Bankus
Worst massage ever – I was so excited when my husband gave me a gift certificate for a massage, but the experience was quite a let down. I was taken to a hot tub room to soak for 30 min, which sounded wonderful. But the water wasn't very warm, so I found the temp gauge it was set at 98 degrees BODY TEMP! it wasn't warm at all. afterward was the massage. I was on the table for 10 minutes before my therapist came in. When she did start the massage it was terrible, pressure was very light when I asked her to go a little deeper there was still no change. And while massaging my back she plopped down on a stool and just rubbed my shoulders. It was awful. Don't waste your $$$ here!
Best in Bloomsburg – Very upscale spa with outstanding service and therapists. Completely worth every penny!!!!!!
