Tips for Bruno's Pizza

Some great pie. Not being extremely familiar with Chicago (or, for that matter, authentic Italian) pie, all I have to say is this was some very tasty pie. I can't comment on the service as I was there for a rehearsal dinner served buffet-style in a private room. But like mentioned below, they DO have a $50 minimum for credit cards!! ??? Come on! (Enforcing ANY minimum, by the way, is against Mastercard AND Visa policy; the fiestier of you can call and tattle on them.) Enjoy the pie. Take cash.

Bruno's - How about authentic?. I've been fortunate to travel extensively. Nothern Italy was one of my stops. The pizza at Bruno's reminds me so closely of pizza in Milan, Italy. It's not the typical American style, so don't go if you want all the current delicacies. If you're lucky, Bruno himself will make you pizza: thin crust and all about the taste and blend of flavors. His grandson served me my drinks and asked for a big tip for his mom! Come on! Can it get any better??

Problems with the cashier. We visited Bruno's this week. We would both have agreedto return, but have since decided not to do so. When using the ATM I received a coupon for $2.00 off of a purchase, then tried to use it at the cashier. She--I beleive Mrs. Bruno--did not want to take the coupon. I would have used my debit card to pay for dinner, but they have a $50 minimum. Her attitude not only lost her the $2.00 that she had to take off our dinner, but our business forever. The coupon was their idea, not mine. SHE YELLED AT ME!

Great Pizza. I was at Bruno's this weekend for dinner after a wedding rehearsal. Being from Chicago and very skeptical about the prospects of decent pizza in Indiana, I was very surprised.

The sauce was sweet, but very tasty. I sampled a number of different combinations and they were all great. If you are stopping to eat in South Bend or looking for dinner after an ND game, go to Bruno's. The service is friendly and the food is great.

The ambience is very lacking, as the exterior appearance looks very poor. Don't let this fool you, as half of South Bend looks run down.
