Not Worth Your Time. The atmosphere was mediocre at best and the staff was rude and unhelpful. Also, the bands that they schedule don't come onstage until over an hour past when they're supposed to. I was looking forward to trying the food, but unfortunately after standing there for 3 hours without finding an open table I left. I would definitely not waste my time there again, or recommend it to anyone.

Great bar food, but uninspired beer selection and too smokey. This is really about the Franklin location, but I imagine the review should suffice for the Nashville location as well (at least in regards to food and beer).

This place has some of the best, reasonably-priced bar food I've had in a LONG time. The Reuben is delish, as are the chicken tenders, and the deep-fried cheese and sausage satays. I've yet to have bad food there.

My only caveat is that the beer menu is typical at best. They have all the generic crap you can get at any bar (Guiness, Harp, Smithwicks), but nothing really great from the Island. There are so many beers that are much better than what they serve. I'd kill to get some Old Speckled Hen on tap (or even in a can) to go with my meal. Technically not Irish, but there are other beers on the menu that aren't Irish either.

I think if they expanded the foreign beer selection, I'd be there with greater frequency. As it is, I usually go to Boscos, just for the beer. But sometimes you really want a greasy Reuben and a great beer. Dan McGuiness only gives you the first half of that equation.

That, and (at least in Franklin) it's 21 plus only, So, the place is always saturated with smoke. It puts a dent on the enjoyment of any meal.

Never made it past the door. When the doorman said to my companion, "I'll need to see your ID but not your mom's" that was enough for me. Neither of us will ever go back. I would give zero stars if I could.

A great time for all ages!!. I recently came to town to visit my daughter who is in school, and she suggested we go to dinner at Dan McGuinness, we ended up staying all night!! I ordered an appetizer called Sausage n Batter which was fabulous and plenty of food for a few people and then I tried the Irish sampler which I ate all of even though I was stuffed!! It was great! I was impressed at how many different beers they had on tap. After all that food I didn't want Guinness and our server suggested some other fantastic beers instead. The service really impressed me, our server chatted with us suggesting other things in Nashville to check out. We stayed that night and listened to Irish music on the patio, which was a little rustic, but heated and covered for the winter weather. My overall experience at Dan McGuinness was top notch! I would suggest going there for anyone of any age. My daughter and I both had a stellar time! Most of all the charm of the pub and excellent service was memorable. The staff made you feel like you were a part of their family! keep up the great work!

Best spot in Nashville!!!!!. I am a new resident of Nashville but have been visiting for years. I have been to Dan McGuinness when visiting, and feel so lucky that it is my new hangout. The food is fantastic, my favorite being the fish n chips, but other items on the menu are great when you are not in the mood for fried food. They also have healthy items like wraps and sandwiches, and of course excellent salads. These salads are not all wilty lettuce drenched in dressing, but you get a cold plate with fresh greens, ample toppings, and various homemade dressings on the side. The staff provides excellent service whether you are sitting at the bar or at a table. You can tell the employees there love that bar as much as my friends and I do. When you go to Dan McGuinness you feel like you are in a place that someone has taken care to handpick each item on the menu, as well as each friendly staff member that works there. I would recomend this Irish pub to visitors and residents alike. On the weekend there is a band on their patio and it turns into a fun nightlife atmosphere, but during lunch and dinner hours, it is great for a low key meal and a pint or two. Hope you enjoy this place as much as I do!!

Best Irish Bar in Nashville and Cool Springs. I have visited both locations in downtown and cool spings and have been very satisfied with the food and the service. The shepherd's pie and fish n chips are the best this side of the pond. They both offer music on fridays an saturdays ( Cool Springs) and Sundays (Downtown) with Nosey Flynn, the best irish duo in the south. Downtown has more of a bar feel and the party is on with live rock bands on friday and saturdays, while the cool springs location is a little more upscale but has a rockin karaoke on wednesday night. Above all they pour a perfict pint of Guinness. Plus the servers and bartenders are cute

Spoiled Food. Terrible Service.. I visited this establishment last night with several of my friends. The service and food were terrible beyond belief. Our problems started when we ordered our food. Two people in our party ordered potato soup. They thought the soup tasted sour, so they asked the waitress about it who checked and found that the soup was spoiled. I ordered my food TWICE, but after everyone else in my party had eaten (well everyone except the two who were served tainted soup), I still hadn't received my order. We also had to beg to get drink refills which were only forthcoming after everyone had finished eating. The manager came to our table to assure us that the tainted food wouldn't make anyone ill and he comped some drinks for us. However, neither he nor the waitress were very apologetic about the horrendous food and service at their establishment. In short, I wouldn't recommend going there for anything other than perhaps a quick drink at the bar.

too bad for you.... This was one of my favorite restaurants, and now I cant even go. If this place would be smart they'd ban smokers. Or at least at just on of their locations. Studying marketing, I believe that this was a poor decision to make it a smoking place. But thats just me. Now I just have to go find another restaurant to enjoy my sausage and batter at! The sad thing is i brought a lot of people everytime i went. Which mean good business for you! Now, unfortunately you'll never get that!
