In Short – This non-wheat bakery on the southern fringe of downtown Royal Oak is a true find. It uses all-natural and organic ingredients in nearly all of the muffins, cookies, specialty breads, scones, cakes and other goodies. Some stools along the front window make nice snacking and watching perches. Lunch and pastries are a big part of the small menu. Lunch offers spelt pizza, veggie pasties, quiche and assorted soup specials, which can include anything from vegetable buckwheat to broccoli potato.

Sugar Kisses is owned by a husband-and-wife team and everything in their bakery is 100% made from scratch from all natural ingredients. They also cater to clients with dietary restrictions (i.e. they have a large selection of GLUTEN FREE and VEGAN items).
I'd highly recommend the blackberry/blueberry coffeecake for a new client who is interested in giving them a taste, although in complete honesty I absolutely love almost everything that they make. They also have lunch items (sandwiches and salads), as well as soups daily.
- Pros: Incredible and delicious, healthful food!
- Cons: The space is tiny, so sometimes seating is limited

It's closed both Mondays and Sunday--and it's tiny; on weekday mornings, get there before 9am to avoid crowds.
