Clean rooms, friendly service, great complimentary breakfast selection

My husband and I stayed here because of a wedding in nearby Charleston. The drive is very doable between the two towns. This hotel had clean rooms and hallways. The lobby and pool area were also well-kept. The king-sized bed was very spacious and comfortable. I really like the new comforters they use on the Hampton beds. The bathroom was clean, and the shower was nice (good water pressure). Even though we were in a room facing a field and the interstate, we could not hear the interstate traffic. It's nice that the hotel is situated next to some restaurants (I recommend Cody's) and some stores. The Coles County "mall" is nearby, as well. I also appreciated the choices at the complimentary breakfast. Saturday's selection was much better than Sunday's due to there being more guests on Sunday. They had hot items, cereal, pastries, bananas/apples, juice, milk (2 percent and skim) and some other items. We were pleased with our stay. I recommend staying here if you need to stay in Mattoon or Charleston.
